NARBC 2007 Pictures!
Hopefully folks won't get sick of all the NARBC topics...I thought I would start this one for ALL links and/or attached photos people would like to share. I am STILL uploading all of my picks so I'll be back to post my stuff!

Re: NARBC 2007 Pictures!
Yes Ma'am! :)
Here's the link to my gallery: http://warrenreptiles.com/gallery/ma...g2_itemId=2356
Be warned that that plastic and acrylic enclosures make picture taking a...challenge. I think I did better this year than in 2005 though. The pics are up but now I am going to go through comment on some them...but since some of you are impatient ;P go ahead and take a peak. Be warned that the full size of the pics are very large...I turned up the quality settings but if you just click the thumbnail you will get a medium size pic, not the full size.
Other notes: I did get the nerve up to ask a young women wearing an 8ball shirt if she was a member her...and she was! I briefly met rocker girl...probably have the spelling wrong but I've seen her posts here. We only talked for a minute before both of us went on our way but it was still a treat to meet you!

Re: NARBC 2007 Pictures!
awesome for the link, thank you! im waiting for it to upload now.. as for the acrylic glass good job trying to get better pics this year. i do photography and know how difficult some pics can be. there is something exciting :P ;) about seeing big red venomous signs
way to go for mustering up the confidence to ask about rockrgirl (however she spells it) i usually dont have guts to do anything like that ;)

Tek, I think you were following me around taking a pic of everything I took! Nice pics!

Re: NARBC 2007 Pictures!
Thanks for the compliments everyone! It was worth going down just to look at all the animals and take pictures. There where as always some truly amazing animals. I mentioned before but it was the ball python lovers dream show but I made my best attempt to capture other reptiles as well. I only got as far as adding a "Venomous" summary to the related photos, I will probably have to reference those answering the "what morph is that" in this topic as some I have already forgotten!
I need to make a better attempt at trying to hook up with folks from the forum, not that I minded it all that much but when we where not at the show we were sitting in the hotel room (Friday and Saturday night)...at least they had wireless :D

That axanthic pin show's why axanthic's are a must for any collection.
-
Re: NARBC 2007 Pictures!
what i heard at the show is that Axanthic Pinstripe is the first ever produced and it finally came out of the egg the morning of the show.

Yeah, that's a calico retic. The photo I tried to take of that snake didn't turn out.

Re: NARBC 2007 Pictures!
Some shots that I'm happy with. Most of the pictures I took didn't turn out the way I wanted, even with my attempts to minimize glare and focus properly.
I believe this one was at Signal Herp, I don't recall if it was for sale.

I have been wanting a sulcata for years. Kelly knows what they look like even as hatchlings, so she cut me off at the pass when I tried to buy one. But she fell in love with a leopard tort. and bought it. I didn"t have the heart to tell her they get big also. Boy did she raise cane when she got home and pulled up a care she and saw the size they get. But she has already fallen for him.

Re: NARBC 2007 Pictures!
I had to tweak this picture a bit. It probably doesn't do the snake proper justice. It was a gorgeous dwarf retic of some kind.

Re: NARBC 2007 Pictures!
Great pics. What size does the dwarf reach?

I'm just not sure. I thought that dwarf retics were around 12-13 ft, but from the conversation the sellers were having, It may be more like 15 ft?
I'm a bit confused by how big a dwarf retic and a super dwarf retic is supposed to be. Also, I know some of the genetic morphs are being crossed into the smaller retics, so size is probably still a bit variable.

From everything I've heard/learned about the Dwarf Retics, they usually range in size from anywhere between 10 up to 15 feet or so with 12 to 13 feet being average. I know that sounds big but definitely still a dwarf compared to 20 to 25+ feet!
The parents that produced the female Dwarf Albino Genetic Stripe are normals that are DH for Albino Genetic Stripe. The male is about 9 to 10 feet long whereas the female is closer to 13 feet long.
Super Dwarf Retics range in size from as small as 5 feet at maturity to 9 or 10 feet for a really large female. We have a female Super Dwarf that is about 4 years old and she's approximately 8 feet long. Jumbo rats keep her pretty content. She's roughly the same size as some of our big Colombian Boas.
I know there have been some baby Super Dwarves produced that only weighed around 25 to 30 grams upon hatching which is about 1/2 to 1/3 the weight of most hatchling Ball Pythons!
