My very much dark Python Regius

Hey...

My name is Nikolai Nielsen and I come from Denmark, over the last couple of year i've gathered up a quite decent collection, but one that stands out is this one year old male Ball Python. So here are some pics.

Where'd you pick him up?

wow.. that is gorgeous. so dark on top, such a contrast from the belly. Do you plan on breeding him with anything in the future?

Yes ofc i'm gonna try breeding, hopefully i'll find a female ready for the task at Hamm this December.

what do i think? i think that you should breed him and see what u get.... he would go great with a black pastel....

Very interesting black male!! I have a female that is almost identical but has a darker gray belly. And she is possible het for pied!! :sunny:

Interesting that the side stripes on his head are the "normal" color....he's beautiful! What is his name? =)

amazing how an almost black snake could possibly produce a partially pure white

I don't think dark snakes like Denmark.... You need to send it to Texas....

Oh wow! He sorta looks like the voodoo ball, but much nicer!! Beautiful! I hope he passes that trait on to his offspring. :D

I don't usually like dark balls, but that is an awesome normal. I'd personally breed him to an albino and a normal for a few generations to see if he is genetic, and to see if he would produce any super high contrast albinos. Id imagine that if he were an albino he would be solid orange and white like a dreamsicle. That is, unless the yellow pigment isn't as rich as the black in him.
