Brady Barr (Nat Geographic host) bit by giant python video
There was recently a special on National Geographic which I intended to watch, but forgot all about it. Here is the video of the host being bitten by an enormous python.

    Ouchie!

Wait a minute, hold everything dude! Did you just say you have a bad bite?

What an idiot. He must be some sort of Steve Irwin wanna-be. Looks to be only marginally better than watching an episode of Jackass.

I saw this on MSN's homepage the other day. It showed the bite there. It was pretty brutal. More like slashes than the mutiple pin pricks of a snake bite. I have to say, he deserved it. I must admit, I laughed a little.

Did anyone count how many times he said "I have a bad bite"? Also, the other funny thing was how the guy with him couldn't care less. It made Brady Barr look more like a cry baby.

the actual show comes on sunday! i think at ten......have to DVR that! i think it's cool that he even went in there, but you can't go pulling a snake thats in water! if your going to mess with something be on land where you can see its actions...........this was stupid

I am sorry but I had to laugh after the guy got bit. IMO he was asking for it.

It seems to me that they should have handled the whole situation better, I don't know anything about wrangling snakes out of the water, but if they couldn't easily control the snake then they should have just left it alone.

Does the show come on this Sunday? I'll have to check it out (although they may not show him getting bit in the show....).

Thanks for sharing this, and thanks for the laugh (I needed that today!!).

I'd have been considerably less worried about the damage the snake caused than about the appalling infection that must surely develop due to exposure to the bat guano swamp they were standing in when it happened. It will honestly be a miracle if he avoids extreme tissue damage or death from that.

He had to take 4 weeks of anti rabies meds. I read it while searching for a picture of the bite.

While I was laughing pretty hard at his girlie antics, I was also annoyed by the 18 references to a "monster" python... it brings up the whole lawmaking angle again by scaring people even more. It looked like the poor thing was minding its own business when that moron went in after it, so he got bit!

I just think some people will think that all pythons are killers even more now.

The difference between this guy and Steve Irwin is that Steve would have actually gotten the snake out and told you something about it. He took risks but he did it in the name of educating people about something they see less and less of everyday. I love nature alot more than I love concrete so I think that's a good thing. This guy just accomplished the opposite by making a scared snake look like an evil serpent taking joy in torturing somebody.

    Check this out:

    http://www.theinsideronline.com/news...131/index.html

    Quote:

By this time Dr. MARK AULIYA, a python expert working with me on this project, arrived to assist me in pulling this large snake out of the wall. I handed over the tail to Mark while I attempted to free more of the large snake's body from the crevice as Mark pulled.
Apparently the guy standing next to him was a "python expert". Something tells me he's also now an expert in wetting his pants. Maybe that's why he wasn't moving. :D
