My realization of the day...
Moving to a new house is expensive! I somehow managed to spend $3700 in the last 2 days on furniture. I rented a house (my first house) and am in the process of packing and moving. Moving is up there as one of my least favorite things ever. But it'll be nice to have a place with no loud neighbors and to not have to time my coming home on when there are parking spots available. Here are some pics of the new place (2 bedroom/2 bath with a full basement and a lot of space for my home office):

Re: My realization of the day...
Congrats on the new house, moving can be so exhausting, I can't blame you for not liking it, but once you settle, I am sure you will be happy that you made the move.

Re: My realization of the day...
Nice Jamie, congrats! I can sympathize with the moving thing. I hate it!

Re: My realization of the day...
I'm STILL buying things for our new house, and it's some 3 months after the move. You have my utmost sympathy, Jamie. Now's the time to wrangle up those friends to help get everything moved. (more specifically those local ones ;) )

Re: My realization of the day...
Thanks all! Its pretty exciting so its offsetting the hatred of moving..a little...

Re: My realization of the day...
You've got two decks! Lucky bugger! Congrats on that....nice evening sitting out there popping open a cold one and watching the sun go down...I'm green with envy.
If it gets too boring I could always consider renting the house next door dear. Mike can come over, drink all your beer, Mikey would love to have Uncle Jamie to watch cartoons with at oh about 6 a.m. on a Saturday morning, Luke you don't have to worry about - we can't pry him off the Xbox anyways so he's no trouble and my two girls...well they can just "borrow" your phone for 10 hours at a time, bum money off you for girl stuff whilst screeching at you for leaving the seat up. Me, I'm nice...well other than I like to play country music really, REALLY loudly. *smirks gleefully*

Its kind of one deck but its a nice sized deck. It'll be nice to bbq again. For some reason they don't like that in apartments! I'm going to need a cold one or 12 after all this.
As for the other part, I think I'll pass! :) Remember I was excited about the quiet! :D

Re: My realization of the day...
Awesome! I know.. moving sucks. But just think of how awesome it'll be to stretch out and live life in a nice house without NNs (that's our family slang for Nosy Neighbors..) Looks like a nice house; the type that my hubby and I are looking for in the near future.

heh.. I've been in my first house for almost 6 years and i still dont have a livingroom set.. I have a futon as a couch and a hand me down rocking chair in there. Owning a house is great and terrible all in one.

Soon Ninja! I actually don't have a grill yet. I left my last one in Florida when I moved back up north. When I tried to grill on the sidewalks in the UC, the homeless people thought it was a fire to warm their hands over. I can't have homeless people hands near my food.
I think by the beginning of November we can git r done. I need one of those outdoor fireplaces. Like this:
