can you say PREGNANT?!

Geez this girl just keeps getting bigger, and bigger, and bigger, and bigger... I swear, she doubles in size every day.. I really think she's gonna blow up before she delivers...

well, I checked again this morning and she's still running around the tub, fat as ever... I find it very interesting that she hasn't seemed to stop doing the normal 'mouse' stuff like climbing the food hopper, and "walking upside down" on the screen lid...

She'll pop soon I would think, though my experience with mice is admittedly very limited. I know some of my momma rats get so huge they can barely rise on their hind legs near the end but when they do manage it I'm sure they will topple over from the weight LOL. A rat with 18 or so good sized babies in her is a pretty funny sight! (hmm wait I've been preggo...nuthin funny about that come to think of it! :P )

I'd actually says she's got a couple of days before she blows...just make sure to keep her food and water topped up so that when she does deliver, you can leave her be for a day or so...

cage cleanings are tomorrow, and I can add food and water without disturbing them. The cage can go a couple extra days without being changed without too much trouble, so I think we'll be all set...

Also, I've been trying to handle her daily, get her used to be touched and stuff. She seems pretty cool with it, and actually kinda "greets" me when I pull the lid off...

Looks like you have a "mega mouse!" My friend had a pet store and breeds mice; for awhile she had a pair that would produce astounding amounts of babies. But their babies never bred as good.. she would be a keeper in my book. :)

Yay for pinkies! I wasn't able to count them as I didn't want to disturb them too much, but there look to be quite a few... I'll let her settle in for a while and count them later..

Ok, I couldn't help myself... This is my first litter so I'm super excited! I went and counted, and it looks like 11 healthy babies. All 3 of the adults in that tub are taking care of them it looks like...

Looks like their tub isn't getting changed for a little while longer...

Congrats...is that her first litter??? i remember my first litter only had 4 and the second had 9

yep, her first litter... looks like she's a champ of a breeder to me... she's not bothered at all by me looking in, which makes me very happy!

They're apparently not bothered by me at all... I've been so excited I've been messing with them all day, and still 11 pinkies!
