Re: I moved in to my Room!
Looks great Ed...but with all that room you don't have anywhere near enough rat tubs for all the snakes you are going to need to feed. :D
Great Job.

I know what you mean...I am at 50 breeders now and think I will need to double that by the 08 season.

Haha! My thoughts exactly! :P
Re: I moved in to my Room!
Thanks guy. It is cleaner than that now I took those after we have finished and there was still loads of crap that wouldn't be in there. My wonderful wife is the one that has let me do this. With out her I'd be doing something else. Well I figured at max I can handle 24 breeder females 35 grown males and 87 babies or 40 Juvies and 47 babies.. so some where around 150 animals just along two walls. To bad my incubator only holds 10 clutches.
Re: I moved in to my Room!
Oh it looks great! More pics please once everyone's all moved in. I love the green (my favorite color!) :)
Re: I moved in to my Room!
Same color as my room... lol, green...
Nice room... make sure to post pics when it's finished.

I will Jo I jsut don't want any issues rather have it all set up and running then introduce the snakes.
Here ya go Jo some pics of the different sides.
This is the windows that let in in tons of light and fresh air when I need to. And a work bench and shelves that run the length of the room.

and these are the lights I put in I had just standard 2 60watt incandescent bulb house fixtures in there and I replaced them with two, two bulb florescent fixtures, I got bulbs that burn at 5000K wave length. So I get a good bit of light in there.

Re: I moved in to my Room!
Congrats Ed! It's got to be exciting for sure and there is no better feeling than seeing something come together after all the hard work. I'm anxious as we are house shopping and one of the things we visualize for is my reptiles/rodents definitely going to have some expansion in the future!
Re: I moved in to my Room!
Looks great Ed. You must be thrilled! What kinda floor are you going with? I'm gonna be moving my snake room to another room and am not sure what kind of flooring to go with. Tile is my first choice but may go with something cheaper and warmer. Can't wait to see all your babies in their new crib!

Thanks Raul;
Well I thought about that stick down vinyl tile and also thought about just painting it. Carpet is a Hell NO!! as I have some messy rats that like to kick aspen out the holes they so lovingly chew in my tubs so I like to be able to open the back door and just sweep everything out the door if I need to :D. I also thought about using flex what for what it was meant for (floor heating). See allot of people don't know that flex watt is a floor heater you glue it under tile, vinyl flooring even some wood laminate ect and can have it wired to a thermostat and it warms your floors so you never have to get up to cold floors.
I built a kitchen that had a spot of granite that had 2sqr feet of flex watt in a spot on the counter and when you turned it on you could defrost and thaw your food in no time.

Do the same concept and thaw your snakes food (if you didnt have your own breeding colony)

Bingo :D
Or build you a work bench with a heated area that you can take pics of them in the winter and not worry about them coming in contact with a cold surface :D
Re: I moved in to my Room!
Yep we had a family member that had that installed under their bathroom floors...oh is that nice on a cold morning or after getting out of a nice hot shower!
Now all you need Ed to pretty up that room is a NERD spider morphs poster and an EbN ball python calendar! :)
