Blue rep dot?
I got a rep point today that's blue? At first I thought it was a neg because the comment says "Zing!"
And the positive ones are green.(I have alot of those :) )
Aren't the negs red?
Not quite sure what this means?
It's kinda of funny that someone would give me a neg for giving info on temps but whatever.
Anyway whats a blue dot mean?

Re: Blue rep dot?
Might it have been a gray dot? Green is positive, red is negative, and gray is neutral. You would have a neutral rating from someone who does not yet have "rep power" (a new member or a member with really low rep themselves)...OR if an admin neutralized an unjust neg hit. :)

Re: Blue rep dot?
Do those neutral change to green when the giver receives rep-giving power?
Just curious... I have a couple too, both positive statements.

It might be gray, i have a black screen so that might make it look blue?
So it might be some newbie getting their jollies by neg repping people for fun.
Someone needs a hobby!(I was gonna say something perverted but held back) :)
I'm glad it entertained you Cue at my expense, What are friends for. :D

Re: Blue rep dot?
Well....I would guess it was just as likely (or MORE likely) that it was intended to be a positive hit. I know when I say ZING to someone, I say it because I thought they said something really funny and clever. ;)

Ohhh,
I guess my internet vocabulary is not up to par. My apologies
Either way no harm done. Thanks Judy for the info. Your help is always greatly appreciated :) . Do you have an internet dictionary for an old analog dog like me? :D

Thanks again, i'll put that in my favorites!

Re: Blue rep dot?
I got a few; I figured that they were similar to the "neutral" reps you can give on ebay.. it helps to know that they are from newer members though sometimes.. never crosed my mind. :)

Raul,
If it makes you feel any better, I got the exact same rep hit yesterday. It was a grey dot and the comment said Zing!

Re: Blue rep dot?
So when or how does one make the transition from to leaving grey dots to leaving green (or red) dots?
And how do you know if you are able to leave rep points that actually count for something or if you are too new and only leave neutral ones?

Any member with a post count of 100+ AND a reputation of 12+ (you begin with 10 right off the bat) will be able to affect other's reputations. But even if you don't have "rep power" yet...you are still welcomed to leave your comments, if you wish.

Where do you view your rep?

Click on the "User CP" link at the top of the page. If anyone has left you rep points/comments, you'll see them there, as well as your current rep score.

Re: Blue rep dot?
Hmm either I am oblivious or it doesn't show correctly on this skin. I am using Simply Black and I don't see any numbers or comments. You said people start at 10, so I should see at least a 10 somewhere.

Tim since we both commented on the same thread it must be the same person.
I assumed it was a neg rep because when someone leaves a positive they put their name and an explanation.
