If not aluminum tape, then what?
If you dont have aluminum tape, and from what I read its $20, then what would you suggest to tape the thermostat probe down to the flexwatt? I saw Bailey (muddoc?) on his site he placed the probe on a piece of tub and appeared to be wrapped in gauze then packaging tape over that. Any suggestions? Would some pieces of packaging tape work and just monitor it?

Hmm, well you could go around your neighborhood asking people for some, or maybe you could use electrical tape.
EDIT: Electrical tape will last for the time being, just make sure you find some aluminum tape.
Hope this helps
END EDIT.

Re: If not aluminum tape, then what?
Home Depot sells aluminum tape for way cheaper like $8 I think. I've used blue painters tape for years and have never had a problem.

Re: If not aluminum tape, then what?
WalMart, as unfortunate as it is, has foil tape for $6-something a roll, and it lasts a long time.

I got a small role at Home Depot for under $3.

Well then that's just not nice..
Share mister! *shakes finger at you*
:D
But seriously, hoard some rolls and ship it on over here. I use about half a roll to tape up one rack, so I'm always running out.

I use to use velcro to hold my stuff down and it worked pretty good

Re: If not aluminum tape, then what?
We tried finding aluminum tape and it was about $20. We are using the electrical tape on a shelf level that is not being used. We heard that electrical tape's adhesive will get goopy and end up sliding around. Thats why we keep it on a level that is unused so we can use it for a while. Haven't heard of using the blue painters tape before. How does that hold up to sliding tubs?

Re: If not aluminum tape, then what?
The foil tape at Home Depot and elsewhere is $8 and up, but WalMart does have it in their paint section for $6-something. It's a bigger roll too.

Re: If not aluminum tape, then what?
Everyone always forgets about duct tape. The stuff is designed to be used on heating ducts and holds up well under warm temperatures. And it's a lot cheaper then aluminum tape.

Re: If not aluminum tape, then what?
I have some of that black/dark grey duct tape holding the flexwatt in place on my sub-adult rack. It's thicker and bunches up in some places, regardless of the space in between the top of the rack and the tub. Seems like the heat makes itmore prone to moving. I plan on replacing it all with foil tape when I have time.
Also have foil tape on my bigger 6-tub rack holding the flexwatt down, and even over the connections, the tubs moving over it, it hasn't caused a problem.
The foil tape is just thinner and the tubs slide easier over it since it doesn't have all those individual fibers.

Re: If not aluminum tape, then what?
I ended up getting foil tape at home depot and was only $2.50 for like a 30ft section.
