November - Dixie Reptile Show

OK, Karl and I had such a great time with Ed, his wife Carrie and Christie at the September show, that Karl is chomping at the bit to go again. Not so much for the show, but for the friendships shared. But why not coordinate it when the show is going on too?

I promise my car won't go up in smoke this time! LOL

Karl has been worrying me to death to post this here and see if anyone else might like to plan to meet up there. We'll most likely stay at LaQuinta at Cahaba Park Circle again - it seemed to be pretty central to most places - like PF Changs, even though we did go on a wild goose chase to try to find it! LOL

So please, for the sake of my sanity, so that Karl quits worrying me - sound off if you think you might like to come and have fun weekend. The show isn't much to write home about, but the fun and laughs are! We're even thinking about hitting the zoo this time! :D

I definitely will not make any promises, but we might be able to go. It would also help if you could put up the dates if you have them Robin. I really want to make one of these shows to have some fun with you guys, but with us getting back from Chicago and breeding starting in November, it might be tight.

I don't think Christie saw this yesterday, so of course I need to bump it.

We're really excited, Karl's counting down the days, and I hope that Christie, Ed, Carrie, Tim and Monica are all able to make it! I'm trying to talk Deborah into going, we'll see if I can convince her to or not - I'm even trying bribery! LOL

Anyone else? Justin Kobylka maybe? I'm not really sure who else is close enough, but speak up! :D

I think, we are going to make a concerted effort to go. If so, we will drive in Friday early evening, and stay until Saturday evening. I have to leave Saturday night, as snake cleaning day is Sunday, and I always like to get an early start. Can you guys tell me where we need to get hotel accomidations at, so that I can make some reservations.

We all stayed at the La Quintia on Cahaba park circle. Nice hotel. :D If you leave Saturday night that means we have to make dinner early..And no DUI there mr Bailey.. LOL

We will eat dinner Saturday night before we leave, but there will be no DUI's involved, guaranteed.

Monica will probably drive home. We leave for Chicago in one week and one day. I can't wait (I think). This vending thing is really a headache, making sure we have everything we need for the show.

If you stay there too (which I hope anyone that plans to stay overnight will stay - it's nice for us all to be in one place), PM me and I'll give you a code to enter for a 10% discount. Ed - you still have it?

Yes, I did see this thread but I'm still working on getting the husband and kids to come too this time. Worst case scenario, I think I will be able to come but solo again and this time no sleep overs. (so I am working on it!!!) :oops:

Just checking - are we still solid with Ed/Carrie (all weekend?), Tim/Monica (Friday night/Saturday), Christie (Saturday only), Karl/me (all weekend)?

I think Emily is also going to try to make it for the whole weekend, but not sure yet if her plans are firmed up yet.

Abso Freaking Lutely! We're all staying (I think) at LaQuinta Inn on Cahaba Park Circle. PM me, and I'll give you a code for 10% off on your reservation.

We're driving over Friday evening and leaving Sunday morning. If it's anything like last time, it will be a weekend full of laughs and good company! :D

I will be making reservations this weekend, but we still have to firm up the baby-sitters before we confirm our attendance.

Hey I was the one who found the sign!... well eventually. So apparently, red lights are difficult to see but not upside down and backwards signs. :oops: You and your wife will be missed. Who will be there to peer pressure me into eating weird stuff like soothing lettuce wraps? Or take horrible pictures of my rear end? :P
