    Kudo's to Emily
Emily, I just wanted to take this opportunity to give you a public back pat sort of thread. This is with reference to this ongoing BOI issue.

    http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/foru...d.php?t=104093

It's never easy Emily to be the one that has the guts to stand up and say enough is enough. You got a lot of backlash at first and you withstood it, stood up for the truth and showed your concern for the snakes and geckos involved in this trade. You showed good grace, good sense and visible proof in the form of vet reports about what was going on with those snakes from Ed.

Emily you have my deepest respect for this. The BOI can be a feeding frenzy sometimes but in this case it did it's job allowing you to expose a situation and not allowing further abuse of you by the other party. I just wanted you to know that your determination in this situation hasn't gone unnoticed and I'd personally be honored to do business with you or anyone that shows this kind of moral fibre.

    You ROCK Emily!

WOW...666 posts over 100 pages and still know Ed. Though I am not surprised they are finally figuring out what this forum has known for many many moons.

Kudos Emily...I agree with Jo it can be difficult to put yourself out there and try and "convice" the skeptics.

I agree with Sean and Jo as well... There were many people on that thread who simply supported Ed based on the time frame of 10 months... As a future breeder I can honestly say that theres no time frame in which the breeders "work" is complete... I will give all of my customers the support and information they need from the initial spark of interest to the day the snake passes on... This is a prime example of the sketchy business were all involved in... Goes to show you that there are many many more things to worry about than "getting a good deal." ...I'm sure no one will disagree that Emily has the support of everyone here on BP.net!!

Emily certainly was a sweetheart in Daytona. I don't believe for a second that she is the liar that Ed claims she is.

I've followed the entire thread, and from Ed's own words (or lack thereof), I believe he has done a great job in digging a nice big hole.

Another kudos to the staff here for making sure this toilet mold is no longer allowed to stink up these forums :disbelief :sigh2:

Yes Kudos to Emily for standing up for what is right. I have been reading the thread over there.

There was a lot of backlash and we all know how it can get. Over here however, we KNOW Emily. We know how she cares for her animals. We know the person she is, not someone looking for a handout almost a year later. Someone who wanted to warn others at the cost of her getting ragged on. You have my respect too, and a lot of support here.
Thank you for bringing that to everyones attention, especially new comers to reptiles.

I was actually going to make a similar thread before I saw Jo was a step ahead of me. I'm glad that the BOI thread reached that sort of conclusion (with the RIGHT person being put in the negative light).

Emily braved the BOI...which tends to get rough. She rode out the storm, answered all of the impertinent questions, got most of her collection tested, and finally managed to prove her case in spite of it all.

I'm proud that Em's a part of BP.net! If I decide to give in to my "OMG CUTE" impulse any time soon, I'll definitely do Crestie business with Emily :)

    Emily

I am so incredibly proud of you. You were grace under fire. You did not respond emotionally in that thread, you presented your facts and you stayed with the thread answering questions, when Ed would not.

The sad thing is, pride, greed, whatever it is that motivates Ed, is what caused his downfall. Had he simply responded to you that he checked his records, even said he "accidentally" sent you CH (although I don't believe that to be true now) and asked you what you felt would be fair to make you happy, that thread probably would have never started in the BOI.

It appears that Ed's downfall is the same as what happened to Chris Johnson and Matt Graybeal. Greed and a inflated sense of self-importance, a feeling of being un-touchable. He's no better than either of them IMHO.

Emily, once again, I am so proud of you!

thank you all SO very much! this has not been an easy thing for me and i really appreciate all of the support via pm, im and posts here and on the boi. you really don't know how much all of that has helped me through.

there were definitely some times during the last 2 weeks that didn't look promising for my case and when it looked like the point of the thread was lost entirely. i am so relieved that it has come back around and that the truth is finally prevailing.

seriously, i couldn't have done it without the love and support from all my great friends here. you guys are the bestest! :D

good--i'm treating the other 2 girls that i have that came from ed and once that's finished i'll take fecals from all of them for retesting. coccidia can be tough to get rid of and the treatment is not too pleasant (nasty, sticky meds by mouth once per day for 7 days) so i'm hoping one round will do it.

My thoughts are with you Em and my hopes that your collection of lovely snakes will come through this with flying colors. It seems your excellent husbandry knowledge and your quarantine procedures have prevented anything from spreading (this is a lesson to all of us to never slack up on those two areas).

I looked at it this way Emily. You could have just shut up, never done business with Ed again and basically let it go at that but you chose to put yourself in the firing line and speak up. You did it for your collection, your right to a fair business deal but also I suspect because you couldn't NOT do it for all the other people and snakes that might be affected now and in the future. Good for you sweetie, good for you!

that is EXACTLY why i did it. i felt i owed it to the animals involved and to their owners so that they could take the proper precautions with their animals. knowing that snakes that came from a particular seller may have parasites and/or may have been misrepresented is something that is unfair to hide from the public. when the well-being of animals is at stake you simply have to speak up!

I wanted to throw my two cents in the pan as well. I typically do not have the patience to read the threads that turn to junk on the BOI, but I did keep up with th thread for the first 2 days. Emily, you did a great job, and I applaud you for that. I have historically stayed out of the BOI, because I know that I will go off on someone and have a negative mark put on myself. I really just hate the fact that most posters have not even taken the time to read the entire thread before they open their mouth. More than once I had to bite my tongue, and not post, because so many people were crying about Emily's "wrong doing", when all she wanted was to inform people about a POSSIBLE problem that MAY exist in their collection IF they received animals from Ed.

Emily, my hat is off to you, and I think you did a wonderful job with a very INFORMATIVE thread on the BOI.

    Sincerely,

Nope, but a post he made in their mod forum was posted where he called Emily a liar.

Emily, after reading the entire thread, it really shows your passion and your commitment for these animals (and that you've got some guts as well!) and your concern for other people out there as well. It takes a strong person to be able to take the backlash and respond without their emotions getting in the way. In short, you rock!

Emily, I was going to send you a supportive PM, but I'll post here instead. I think you had the animals' best interest in mind during this whole fiasco, no matter what anyone says. The rest is all technical bull that should not have been made more important than the big picture. I applaud you for putting up with everything that went on in that thread, and for keeping at it and sticking to what you knew was most important.

Well, I just got done reading the entire friggin thread... all 138-39 pages of it and all I can say is:

@All BP.net members and staff who supported Emily and stuck to their guns and stood by her.... y'all got some big, good lookin' balls!
@Emily....damn Sam!!!!! You've got the biggest, purrrrdiest balls I've ever seen! If it were me, I don't think I could have made it through that thread in one collective piece! :O

I'm not sure I've ever seen such a successful "proving" of character and likelihood in my life... especially on an internet forum!

This i the first time I've been on Fauna for a long time, and to see that people are still childish like that is sad, especially Ed, Bud and Bruce.
I never knew Ed would do this... it's sad because I thought he was a good guy.
Emily, you are brave to speak up. :carrot:

I agree you did it for all the right reasons! You proved that it was ultimately about the animals and not a vendetta. there are many people that have got animals from him and should know what his word is worth and his customer service is like. i don't go to fauna much and that thread reminds me why.

I also want to applaud you for starting the thread in the BOI. I think everyone else that has already posted here has said just about everything that I wanted to say to you, so I'll just give you a big KUDOS for having the "balls" to do it. I believe that you did the right thing, and at the very least it turned into a very informative thread about quarantine procedures, parasites, and really opened my eyes more to being wary about who you do business with. Thank you!!

I am glad that the snakes that you received from Ed made it into such a caring home, and I hope that they are doing good. It is just really terrible that you not only had to deal with parasites in the snakes that he sent you, but to also have to deal with Ed's lack of customer service and lack of caring about the animals that he sells/flips. And I still cannot believe that he would take the time to speak about you like that behind your back, but would not put forth the least little bit of effort to talk with you about this whole thing and avoid that thread having been started in the first place. Such a shame.

Anyway, I have been keeping you and your animals in my thoughts and prayers. KUDOS!!!
