    I am so upset...
Well, after I found out that all my cresties were girls I was alittle bummed. I hoped to have at least one male.

Well my Dad and I had been mending our to say the least, rocky relationship. Talking alot and getting along pretty well. I mentioned the cresties to him, he said he would buy me a male. Well I worked out a deal with the breeder, my dad said he would put the money in my paypal account two days ago. Haven't heard from him since, never a deposit in the account. Nothing. Don't get me wrong, it was supposed to be a gift I am not mad about the money. I am mad because I will have to yet again apologize to someone else for him, and he lied to me. Its going to make me look bad, because of him again. Now he doesn't answer my emails. It makes me really sad. I was hoping maybe for the first time in almost 10 years my dad and I could really have a relationship, apparently he is just the same person. Its really depressing to say the least. Sometimes I wonder how parents can do this to their children :(

Empty promises always feel crappy, but when they come from parents, it always seems to feel worse.

Hope it gets better for you. Here is some :sunny: more and

Sorry your dad disappointed you.:( But it sounds like you still put faith and trust in him. I think thats a good quality for a person (you) to have despite past happenings. I hope you feel better.

I'm sorry things fell through with your deal, but even more that the bridge you'd been building with your father has collapsed beneath your feet. It sounds like he wanted very much to give you something special, but wasn't able to come up with the money. I hope you are able to mend things with him.

Thank you guys. I have a lot of faith in him, but unfortunately its running short after 10 years. I think I have just learned to forgive, but never forget. At this point and take everything he says like a grain of salt.

    Thank you guys...

Too bad I can pluck that little sun off the screen and toss it up into the sky... its already getting really cold here.

    Thanks Emily.

Very true. I did end up with some lovely females, and blessed that they are all healthy and haven't had a single major problem with them. Other than the fact that one of them failed to grow and certain part :D

ahh that's so frustrating! Its no fun to take back a promise that you made based on someone else... but like mlededee said, having all females is a bad problem to have...

Aww sweetie, as someone who has the same issues with my father, I know it was not so much about the crestie. I am sorry he let you down again, but I totally understand the hope you hold out. I sadly don't hold out hope anymore and that is a hard thing. I truly hope that you and your father can have a relationship. ((()))

Wow; are you sure that we are not sisters from the same dad? my dad used to do things like that all the time; say that he'd pick me up from my mom's for the weekend, then leave me hanging with my bags all packed and never show up and vanish for 2 weeks.. Now we are relatively closer but I live my life, he lives his; we visit maybe once a month or so and things are pretty cool.
I know, it sucks bigtime. I agree that you have to take things from certain people with a grain of salt (or with some people, a few pounds of salt...)

I hope that doesn't happen, I mean not holding out hope anymore. I love him, he is my dad. He has done some terrible, I MEAN TERRIBLE things to me that are unforgivable in to most people and I still give him every chance in the world. I too hope we can turn things around. It just gets so old, heartbreaking and you kind of get numb to it. Thankfully though I have two wonderful grandfathers, an outstanding uncle and the most wonderful husband any woman could ask for. I never once thought that all men were like him. Just one out of every few...

We must be lol. He used to do the exact same thing to me a lot. Isn't weird that still after all the things they put us through that we still let them into our lives?
