What to get next??
I am planning on getting another snake and cant decide what. I was hoping i could get a little opinions. I would like a larger snake or a bp morph

Re: What to get next??
I love carpet pythons. If you want one that stays smaller, go for an Irian Jaya. Slightly bigger would be a jungle carpet or a centralian (bredli). Coastals get the biggest at around 9ft.
You can't beat them for their color, size and temperament when adults. Babies can be nippy however that goes away as they get larger and are handled.

Re: What to get next??
I agree, an IJ carpet python would be awesome. With a spider bp you'd have to make sure you don't get a wobbler... albinos have creepy red eyes (IMO) although they still are awesome. Bloods can be really nippy and it's almost rare to find a super tame one. RTB get kind of large so unless you have the room for it, don't get it. Although You can get a Nic boa, they might be nippy (it actually depends on the snake..) but they are small.. about 4-5 feet I believe.

Re: What to get next??
if you can afford it, angolan python

Re: What to get next??
I said Albino cause they will never go out of style, and most people find them attractive even if they aren't BP people!

Re: What to get next??
I have the idea that coastals stay fairly skinny like rat snakes and corns, but im looking for a fatter snake. I could be wrong though

Re: What to get next??
Coastals get pretty thick. My friend has an adult male. He's about 7ft long and 3" diameter. Not too big, but big enough that I'd use caution if he was hungry
:)

Re: What to get next??
hey, I voted "other"
I say you should look into carpet pythons. (I just recently decided the money I have set adside is going towards 2 carpets in December as a xmas present to myself haha)
they get some nice size to em and are very easy to care for.
hope this helps

Re: What to get next??
I have seen a costal that was about 10.5 feet and was as thick at least as 4 inch PVC pipe at the biggest point. I have seen some pretty big IJCPs and JCPs too, not that big but large animals none the less. None seem as thick as a boa at the same length but all are pretty damn impressive when grown. There was a 3-4 year old IJCP at the Lonestar show a week ago, she was easily 3.5 inches round or bigger and I would say about 8 feet.
On what you should get, honestly you should give more info about what you want, that would help us give better opinions and most likely answer the question for yourself once you spell out what you want better.:) In other words asking the question correctly and fully usually gives the answer,

dude get what you want. and what you can keep.
large snakes can be a hastle and feeding then gets expensive as the get bigger.
bp's are quite easy to maintain...but only in the right set up.
so whatever you think you can handle

Re: What to get next??
I have a carpet python and I have to say he's a joy. Even though he's really young, he's only bitten me once, and the bite didn't draw blood. I think he basically just headbutted me. So don't always believe the rumors about them being vicious.
An alternative, if you've got the cash (the green badum PISH), would be a morelia viridis. SOOOOO PRETTY.

Re: What to get next??
I was thinking of an Angolan myself. They seem really cool.. but then again I tend to prefer shorter, fatter snakes; and they seem a bit more enlongated. If I were in the market for a snake other than another BP, it would be a Blood. I have found that I like to "specialize" in one thing (BPs) but I also have a boa (BCI) and he is the only thing I want right now besides my BPs in the snake department.
