Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
My pal Amarin got an adorable little kingsnake at the same expo in Phoenix I got my beauties. He's grown quite a bit and is one mellow dude! He's literally posable! I took some pics of him a while back and posted them on BG, but I forgot to post them here. So here's Amarin's little Voods the kingsnake! I can never remember the morph he is, but kingsnake morphs are pretty inconsistantly labeled anyway. :P

She literally placed him in this position and he held it for the camera! What a ham, lol.

She also picked him up, placed him upside down, and he held that position too!

Beautiful little Cali King and excellent pics. He looks like an aberrant/high white. Any full length pics of him

Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
 Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! I remember that little guy!! He's growing beautifully! I can't believe any colubrid would just sit there like that...what a funny little guy! Just too pretty, too!
Tell Amarin I say "HI!!!" and pass on my compliments to her beautiful Voodoo!

Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
wow that is so cool. our kingsnake would musk and rattle her tail at you... while she was slithering as fast as possible in the other direction!!!
-
Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
Aberrant/high white sounds about right! These are all the pics of him I have for now, but I'll likely get more shots of him and Amarin's Brooksi - as well as whatever she gets at the upcoming Tuscon show- down the road. :) She plans on another king but I forget what kind.
Voods is *incredibly* mellow! He seems to even fall asleep on her sometimes! Her other king, Rhy the brooksi, is a little more nervous but equally posable. She just has a way with kingsnakes I guess? It's surreal!
I'll tell Amarin, Judy! I'll link her to this post, even. I told her I was gonna show him off over here. :D

What a DOLL!!!!!! :D She has a very sweet face!

Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
Voods is a total doll! He tempts me to get a designer king down the road, I love the skunk striped black and white ones.

Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
Aww! I'm glad y'all like my biggest li'l boy. He's truly one of the floppiest, posable snakes.... Rhyban, my brooks, and Ochoa my MBK are equally so, though! Both Voods an Rhy love to be scritched under the chin, and even though it's only been a week with me, Ocha is already content with sleeping in my hand. Although it's going to be a little while before he's learned to recognize/eat from a food dish like Voods and Rhy are. :3

Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
nice looking king you got there...i want more snakes...

Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
HEY Amarin!! Welcome to BP.net!! Glad you finally made it over here!! :D

Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
Tankoo!
Well, I figure i'm up to three of the little boogers now... with one or two others in mind... I still want a Chain and a Sinaloan milk... one of the spotted ones, not the striped ones... maybe a Chihuahua Mt... and of course, eventually, that ghost Honduran. Although i plan for all males since I don't plan to breed... I don't feature any of my babies eating each other!
The kingsnake section of this forum is sadly quiet...
Rhy is peeking out of the spout of his teapot hide as I type this. It's such a sad thing my camera is dead....

LOL....very sad indeed! Get that fixed asap!! :evileye: :P
I agree that the kingsnake forum is definitely on the slow side. But hopefully, as we bring in more colubrid lovers, those forums will begin to pick up and be as popular as some of the others!

Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
I'm starting to theorize that more people don't own kings... because there's this wild misconception that they're somehow deadly... Everybody I tell I've got kingsnakes, they go "Wait, aren't those dangerous/poisonous/venomous?!?" at which point I explain Voodoo the Narcoleptic Wonder... and they stare at me in disbelief... usually because the concept of a snake with a "personality" is a whole new fascinating concept to them. It's usually when I get to the part about my snakes enjoying being scritched under the chin (well, along the sides under the jaw, at the "jugular" point, not under the chin-chin like a cat) in the exact same way my birds do, that their brains seem to fall out and roll across the floor... http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...oteImage-1.gif
Although the sheer number of people who've had the Stupid Snakeowner Experience is truly astounding... :taz:
And what is it with everybody having a "I know someone who owned rattlesnakes" story out here?

Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
Thank you! :P
I had a moron at work pay me a "compliment" on him today by commenting that he'd make a lovely wallet or pair of boots (I was showing someone else his picture at the time). :tricho: :fork: This is the third such comment I've gotten and I'm rapidly considering moving from trying to politely educate about how sweet and friendly and personable snakes are... to just commenting back that I'd love a beagle-skin handbag and watch their reaction. :taz: :fishslap:
I really need to get and post pictures of my tanks. Rhy coiling through the white rose and ivy garland around his waterfall is truly lovely.

Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
Beautiful king! I'm a fellow colubrid lover and my fiance and I have a snow corn and one king. I'll have to get back to you on what kind he is though. I plan on getting more corns and maybe some other colubrids down the road though, so you are not alone on here. :D

Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
YAY the Amarin has finally arrived! You watch, she'll post 3 times as much as I do and show me up now! :D
-
Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
Now I want a kingsnake! Dang I need to make up my mind on what to get, otherwise I'm going to end up with a house full.
Beauty of a snake =).

That's inevitable no matter what you do. :devilish: Snakes are addictive! :D
-
Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
I know it's inevitable, I'm a sucker for snakes. My problem is I've always owned lizards and various other pets, but have always lived with someone with a deathly fear of snakes (or my rats). Now I'm living with someone who actually PREFERS reptile pets, and there's so many snakes to choose from! Ahhh!
Well at least it's down to corn, ball python or kingsnake...and thier 80 bajillion morphs :rolleye2:

Hey, at least it's highly unlikely that Wyl and the crew will get loose on here...
**That's what you think...**
...crap...

Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
Kings (and milkies) are kinda like Pokemon. Gotta catch 'em all! And I think there are just about as many....
I'm still waiting for someone to come up with a green or blue king or milk... Just about every OTHER color is in there....
One non-king I wish I could own is the SF Garter, I think it is... they're absolutely gorgeous. And Ringneck snakes are cute, too. :3

Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
And in a completely but yet not unrelated comment.... Technically I should write Rhy's name リボン (or alternately 印綬 which reads as Inju [if I did my lookup right, someone correct me if I haven't...]), but I suppose that would be rather awkward for most.... :P
-
Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
Soooo cute! I can't believe he's "posable"! Sounds like a great lap snake....=)

Or you can go with a mean comeback like, "yeah, and you'd make passable dog food." Or you can go with scary, "Oh, he would look way better wrapped around your neck." Or go with the gee, you're stupid look.
I understand your frustration. Good luck.

Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
I love the upside down picture!

Re: Hey Judy, remember Voodoo? (DU warning!)
Voodoo is a certifiable ham. It's one of his best skills. :P And I can always tell when he's hungry. He starts checking his food dish religiously.
