Some of you know Liron - our friend from Israel who attended Daytona & has been living with us for several weeks...sort of a "herp boot camp" foreign exchange thingy. :)

And here he is with Poseidon, just the balls-out sweetest water monitor on the planet.

Great looking lizard! Do you do anything to the claws to make them less dangerous while handling?

I wonder if a lizard would fight for it's nails being trimmed like some dogs do..

Very valid question, since I was considering getting a water monitor at one time. I didn't even factor in the nail trimming aspect... or do you even need to trim them.... And if so what do you use to trim the nails on a monitor of that size? Hoepfully someone could chime in on this one.

I don't know how well this would work with a large monitor (that climbs), but I read once on a forum that one guy hangs his lizards on a screen. Then he goes to the other side of the screen and trims the nails that way.

question............is that a raptor or a T-Rex?
