    shedding problem
My BP has a bunch of spots where there is 2 or 3 scales that havn't been shedded yet. They've been there for at least 2 months and he's shedded once since I noticed them. I've tried soaking him and they wont come off. How can I get them off?

could you take pictures of the spots?

How long are you soaking him for, and what are you doing to try to remove them after?

You can get a damp pillowcase or wash cloth and have your BP work it's way through there. If it's just a few indiviual scales, they will most likely come off with your BP's next shed. When you notice your BP going into blue, just up the humidity to around 60-65% and you should be fine

I'll try to get a picture. I soaked him for 30- 45 minutes and then rubbed my finger over the spots.

Ah, my female BP had those for a little while, but they went away after I upped the humidity a bit and a few sheds.

    Should I raise the humidity?

    Hi,

Are you sure those are scales left on and not scales he has rubbed the top layer off of while rubbing against things (possibly while shedding)?

If you look at them from the side do they sit proud of the surrounding scales or dip in slightly?

They sit on top of the scales

I don't know what I'm doing wrong... the warm side is about 93 the cold side is 85. I've been giving him baths and it still won't come off.

    Hi,

I would probably stop trying for a little while if they are proving that stubborn and see how they look after another shed cycle - constantly messing with the poor fella is probably starting to stress him by now and they shouldn't do any harm if left.
