Photo of the Month Themes

Hey y'all!

September's POTM theme will be "Pets" in which you can submit pictures of your beloved pets, past and present.

And that is the last theme we have for our summer line-up...so it's time to start considering themes for the next quarter! I'm pretty sure Zoo Pics will be in the next line-up...but we need more ideas, so y'all start tossing them out. What would YOU like to see in the Photo of the Month??? :D

How about...

Kids & Snakes (or Kids & Pets)

What Says Home to You - landmarks, etc. (I just love the geographic diversity of our members!)

I like the idea of Zoo pictures and Kids and Snakes.

How about a "I know what you did last summer" and have people send in a picture of something they did during the summer.

And since Fall is just around the corner, how about for October, Pumpkin pictures. Pics of carved pumpkins, growing pumpkins, ect.

Also for this upcoming Fall, changing leaves pics. Maybe for November.

Oh definitely some sort of Hallowe'en them for October. I remember that Christie's hubby does the most amazing front lawn deal!

I like all the ideas posted so far but would suggest they be tied to our pets in some way (since that is what the site is about)...so perhaps Halloween pics but of pets dressed up, or we see lots of snakes in the sun (grass) pics how about a snakes in the fall leaves type pic.
I also think bugs (insects) should be considered - you can get some really cool close of pics of bugs with the cooler weather coming.

I like the idea of the kids and snakes!

I also like the pics of pets at halloween.

I like the idea of putting pets into the equation. I could totally plop my cat Tyran into a witch outfit. Hahahahaha, she would kill me.

Hmm, what about carving herps into pumpkins? I think that would be challenging and quite interesting to do.

Hmmmmmm.....I'm not sure even Michaelangelo could take a carving knife to my beardie and make him look like a pumpkin! :P :P :P

I meant carving images of herps into the surface of a pumpkin. There, I'm not sure anyone can read that different than what its meant to be. :D

what about inanimate objects? we always do pets! not that there's anything wrong with that!

How about something like "our pet's most devious/sneaky/embarrasing moments caught on tape"... Cute silly stuff like your kitten in the process of falling off a counter, sleeping in silly positions, or climbing the shower curtain?

It would put a challenge to the equation that's for sure! Unfortunately I don't think my fish or BP are going to do anything worthy of that title.

I suggested this to Robin--not sure if anyone else thinks it'd be fun. So many of the pics submitted in the contests seem like they should have captions. I think the lolcats phenomenon is really funny...so I was thinking we could do lolpets or lolsnakes or whatever...and label photos with amusing, misspelled things.

Office Space....take a picture of your office/work space and vote on the nicest set up....or most cluttered (i'd take that one fo sho :gj: )

I love icanhascheezburger.com. Those things make me laugh soooo hard. lolsnakes would be kinda challenging since they can't make all those adorable faces that cats can make, but it would be interesting. I'd love to try it.

After I saw Robin's post about submitting September pictures for the "photo of the month" it got me thinking...since the end of the year is fastly approaching what about if we take all the monthly winners and have a "Photo of the Year" contest...sort of the best in show kind of thing?


What do you think?

It has to be YOUR video, not one that you grabbed from Youtube. I don't know that we have the capacity to do a video though in that space.

just a thought...

back to the PHOTO of the month..

i still say snakes in weird places... could get interesting. i found one of my missing ball pythons soaking in the toilet once. stuff like that..
