Me too, but I was happy because I'd had that stupid kid's camel song stuck in my head from my friend dropping me off to work with her two year old in the car.

I posted in another thread about what size f/t I am feeding her, but everyone said they couldn't tell without seeing her.. So any suggestions? :)

Go for something slightly less than her widest part. You can try using a string to measure if that helps. If you're unsure err on the smaller side and if it's inadequate then try larger the next week.

Well, I buy f/t in packs of 6.. Soo if I mess up, I'm stuck with 5 extra mice that I don't need :) I think I'm going to try her on a small mouse.. She's been eating pinkies, but that's obviously too small.

Mouse pinkies are definitely too small!!! Hey you can always feed multiples too. ;)

Now that Plain White T's song is running through my head and I CAN'T MAKE IT STOP! :rolleye2:

I've been feeding her two pinkies a week. When I got her, they told me they were feeding her four pinkies a week, but she wouldn't eat more than two for me. But I'm definitely going to upgrade her to some real mice :) I'll definitely take some pics of her with her first mouser.. Awww.. my wittle girl's growing up!

As Christie advised about the pinkies being to small, please do upgrade her to a hopper mouse. I'm taking it that she is an early 07 baby since she doesn't look like she just hatched. http://rodentpro.com/ is a good site to get frozen feeders from. Also it has a good chart on feeders sizes.

I'm guessing you just got her? If so you may want to consider housing her in a tub since tanks don't keep heat or humidity in at all. Also BP's love to have hide houses that they can squeeze into. They like a tight fit to feel secure. If she is out roaming around aka trying to escape it means that she is more then likley stressed. A lot of people on here make hide houses out of plastic bowls and small cat litter pans. Be sure to have two identical hide houses one of the warm side and one on the cool side. Also make sure your temps aren't to hot or to cool. Cool side being mid 80's and warm side being around 90-93. Also humidity needs to be around 50-60% *70% during shed. You will want to get a good thermostat and a pieces of flexwatt. You can get them from Rich at http://www.reptilebasics.com. Also Lowe's carries an acurite thermometer that is great. It tells in and out temps and humidity. In temp = cool side, Out temp = warm side.

Sorry if you knew all of that already but by your pictures I didn't seen any hides and such so I thought I'd just let you know. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Everyone on here is awesome when it comes to needing help or wanting information when you have questions.

She has hides that are made out of terracotta flower pots. You can see one tipped over on its side in a few of the pictures. The pictures were taken while I was cleaning out her tank.. She has one hide on the cool side, one on the warm side, and two pieces of driftwood in between the two by her water. I've been purchasing ArticMice for her, since I can get them for cheap at PetSmart (where I work). The only real problem I've been having is with temperature. The heat lamp gets hooot, and I'm afraid it's too warm for her. It usually stays about 90-92 on the warm side, but for the past day or so I've been noticing that the thermo has been getting up to 94-95. I've been turning the lamp off til the temp gets back down, then repeat process. Is there any way to keep the lamp from getting THAT hot? I know there are the things that automatically regulate when the lamps turn on/off to keep the temps maintained, but they're not in my price range right now.. Any ideas?

When I first started out with a BP, I took tried the heat lamp. I too thought it got WAY to hot and in fact it actually did. Someone on here recommended that I go out to HP or Lowes and get a light dimmer switch. I got one that you plug into the wall and plug into the light and you can "dim" the heat lamp light. It worked okay for the time being. After a while I got fed up with the whole heat/humidity problems with the tank and switched him over to a rubber maid tub. After that I was able to control his belly heat and humidity a whole lot better without needing a heat lamp that just got to hot and killed all of the humidity.

What are you using to check your temps?
If they are those little stick on plastic things most pet stores sell... throw them out. They are known to be WAY WAY off in temps and humidity. Someone on here just posted about how off they were. It was pretty scary.

Robin aka Rabernet on here has some great pictures of a tub set up. I'm sure she'll be happy to post them for you. I know they are floating around on here since I saw them recently. I'll try to find them for you.

I'm not using a sticky one.. It's a digital thermometer by ESU Reptiles.. And the thing i'm using to measure humidity isn't digital, but it isn't a sticky.. I can't think of what they're called. But it looks like a speedometer in a car. I read on another forum that using the terracotta flower pots are bad because they get so hot on the inside, and it's better to use cardboard shoe boxes? Truth or fiction?

If your room temps are stable you could try a dimmer switch - but it sounds like they aren't so you would probably have to spend a lot of time checking and adjusting.

I don't know your budget but there are some cheap thermostats (but you get what you pay for really) - check out reptile basics to see what the approx prices are.
