    She kissed me!
    Hi,

Well tonight I made a stupid feeding error (SFE).

One of my females refuses to eat in her tank so has to be moved to a spare. When she's in there she knows exactly what's coming and, being a sweet little piglet, gets herself all worked up waiting.

Well tonight I had company while I was feeding so was slightly distracted and opened the feeding tank (glass sliding front doors at about eye height - yes I know :colbert: ) raised the rat (F/T) towards her but then my friend said something so I turned round to answer forgetting about the snake - who shot out trying to get this amazing flying rat and managed to get the underside of my forearm instead.

Luckily she must have realised she missed because there was no attempt to clamp down or constrict. Instead she hung there half out of the tank, turned and struck the lighting starter unit for the tank below (heat signature I assume), then ignored the stunned looking pink thing, grabbed the rat out of my hand and retreated into the tank to eat it.

Naturally the first thing I did was ignore the muffled laughter of my friend and pick up the digital camera.

Luckily she doesn't seem to have lost any teeth so the only injury is to my pride.

From the subject of this thread I was expecting something different! :)

Glad it wasn't serious. It's good to have such a great feeding response though.

    Hehe,

Just goes to prove cue is the tastier snake treat.:P I got bitten on the nose once - have you managed that yet cue?

Yes I knew to check for teeth - pulled one of her babies teeth out of my finger tip a couple of weeks ago after investigating why it wasn't healing right.

If I hadn't watched her do it I probably wouldn't have noticed for a bit - no real pain just my usual state of mild confusion.

She is a real sweetheart of a snake as well.:D Just has the feeding responce of a black hole.

I'll see your nose and raise you a lip and an ear! I had the white lip from hell. He'd let me handle him for 15 or so minutes - just enough to get my guard nice and down. Then *POW* started using my arm as a launching pad to nail me in the head.

That was an adult blood python from a feeding response. It was completely my fault and a firm reminder to always pay full attention to the animals when interacting with them!

Ouch! Looks of it I am glad she didn't clamp down. Ugh. Good objective lesson for us all though, thanks. Not exactly what I thought either by the title, I thought snake but maybe a close up look, got a kiss on the cheek. Glad an arm>
