NEW CONTEST! -- Need Graphics and Slogans!

Hey Gang!!

We are about to start the process of revamping our BP.net shop and we're gonna let YOU help us design our gear! How would you like to see a logo you designed or a slogan you came up with on a t-shirt at Daytona??? :D

We have someone that will be doing the primary design, but we also want alternatives to choose from. I'll be looking for up to 2-3 different designs and slogans to add to our selection of goodies from the Cafepress shop.

Everyone wishing to enter should submit standard .jpg images no larger than 800x600 for the purposes of posting here...but winners will need to be able to supply a full sized 300dpi .png image for going to press.

Slogan entries can just be ordinary text...no graphics requirements necessary. ;) I'll do the graphics (fonts, colors, etc) on any winning slogans to match them to the other graphics that ultimately get used. Although if you wish to combine slogans and graphics, feel free.

Simply post in this thread to submit images or slogans or both. After about ten days of accepting submissions, I'll choose out my favorites and we'll have a public poll to select the final winners!

Rules and Disclaimers:
--All graphics must be original artwork done by the person submitting them.
--Any animals and/or photographs used in creating the artwork must belong to the person doing the submission.
--ALL entries must fit within our Family Friendly format. Sexual puns should be saved for other projects. ;)
--All members, including staff, are welcome to participate.
--All submissions become the sole property of Ball-Pythons.net to be used for any current or future projects as we choose.
--Conditions and rules subject to change without notice.

Feel free to ask for whatever clarification is needed! Can't wait to see what you guys come up with, as I know we have some awesome creative talent among us!

I don't have a limit in mind at this time....although if several people go insane and submit 20 items each, I may set one. :P When it comes time to make the polls for the finalists, I'll probably make sure there is only one entry per finalist.....but that'll also depend on how many people enter and how many things we ultimately get to choose from.

Good stuff Judy! I've always felt that BPNet's store needed a higher profile so this sort of thing is just a great idea. Are you planning to have some sort of banner space or something (that little "Shop!" button being pretty much too low key in my opinion). :)

Thanks, Jo! Yes, that's part of the plan, once we get all the new gear set up, we'll promote the store much more visibly than that current little link that gets lost among all the others. Those details are still being worked out.

Yeah....I was kinda noticing the lack of attention to that particular little rule. :P That being said, though....I realize that some people DO like that sort of stuff on their shirts or whatnot...so if someone comes up with a particularly clever one, maybe it'll end up in the store anyhow.


In the meantime....please also try to come up with some clean, family friendly slogans or catch phrases. It doesn't even have to use the word "Balls"....could be something like "Herpers Helping Herpers" .....or whatever!

Come'on....I know we got smart, clever folks here! And I can't wait to see some of the graphics start rolling in.... ;)

but they're not as fun without the word balls!:P

oops didn't see that part. actually i was going to preface mine with a note but then i thought... "they are asking for slogans about ball pythons... how can there NOT be some sexual pun in there?"

Since I tend to go for the sexual puns myself, Im hoping one gets picked. The best option (to appeal to the widest range of customers and therefore get the best profit) would probably be to choose one for family oriented and one with a sexual pun to it. This way you can dress up the kiddies and/or yourself and everyones happy. :D

I was bored so I drew this but I'm too lazy/photoshop challenged to make it into a clean black and white image, lol. If someone wants to clean this up I have a larger file. I thought it might be nice on shirts or something?

What, like this? I made this originally for someone who used to post here that wanted a logo, but they got out of snakes, AND never paid me for it, so it still belongs to me. I'd like to see it become useful. I have a higher resolution version somewhere too..

someone on the forums has "WARNING Ball pythons have been proven to cause death in laboratory mice." in their sig. and i think that's just a classic.
running with that as an idea.. maybe use that phrase with a picture of someone in a lab coat looking all highly educated on the front. then just 'ball-pythons.net' on the back.

As far as design It would be cool if on the side of a ball python it says a solgan as part of the muation/design of the snake.
