Actually that's my darling wife Michelle. And Thanks! Their iridescence is my favorite of their features.
Re: The OTHER other Giant.
She's just gorgeous. I love how dark and iridescent she is.
Re: The OTHER other Giant.
Holy cow, I am not even sure if I've ever seen one of those before... any relation to the olive python?

Aside from the fact that they are both pythons.. nope.
Olives are genus Liasis, Papuans are genus Apadora.
Re: The OTHER other Giant.
wow...never heard of/seen that before!
that's cool!...how's their temperament and is that a pretty normal adult size?
gorgeous.

Once they are out they are fine. They can be a tad territorial though, so a good long hook is your friend for getting them out. That is a fairly normal adult size though.
Now if I could only get them to breed! *grumble, moan, complain.*
Re: The OTHER other Giant.
Wow, thats beautiful, I love that iridescence. Looks like she's fairly slim too. Do they tend to stay that way or do they bulk up over time? What are they most closely related to and what are their basic care requirements?
Mark

They are fairly slim if you compare them to, say, burms. They are similar in proportion to retics I would say. I wouldn't hazard a guess as to their closest relative genetically. Probably closer to the Liasis genera than Python, but they are very much their own animal.

Thanks! I agree. I wish I had a dollar for everyone who has said that they prefer Olives to Papuans... before they see my Papuans in the flesh. ;)
