that is absolutly disgusting. i have no problems with people drinking or getting drunk- but if thats the kind of monster you turn into when you drink, put it down and walk away.

:mad: Sadly when it comes to domestic issues a lot of people get back at their better half by hurting an animal. Animal becomes an easy target and that is very sad. Are can someone harm an animal just to get back at someone :confuzd: ???

Actually and rather sadly, this sort of thing doesn't at all surprise me, Lawrence. I spent 10 years working the front line in shelters for violence against women and children and it was one of the main questions we asked about on intake....cruelty to family pets. It's considered a major red flag for a number of psychological issues as well as very commonly seen in homes where domestic violence is occurring. It can come from misdirected rage, from the need to dominate and hurt anything in the vicinity, as way to control the spouse or children through threats to kill their pet if they leave or refuse to knuckle under the abuse, often as a very direct threat "see what I did to your pet, you'll be next" sort of thing, a form of punishment or as a way to terrorize family members.

i can't really say much without going on a ten-minute rage... let's just say i'm extremely dissappointed.

Some people are sick and disgusting. That is more than sick and disgusting. This man needs to be put away for good. Injuring or killing defenceless animals is completely and utterly immoral and inexcusable.

I can see why his ex dumped him. Should've enabled a restraining order simultaneously. What a :cens0r:ing coward.

That's one reason why some communities and animal shelters are trying to get support for $$ and legislation so that abused women/men can take their pets to the shelters with them. Some abuse victims won't leave their abusers b/c of their pets...just like some victims won't leave due to children.

Most times it's the pet to coerce & terrorize the kids and wife.

It's sick & disgusting that he did it, and it's sad that we as a society can't prevent this sort of abuse. :( :tears:
