    New Rack
Yea :carrot: my new rat rack is almost done!!! I cannot wait to get everyone in it and start using it. The only thing left to do is staple down a couple of the hardware cloth tops.

    Here is the rack:

Good job!! I am about to build one of the racks that hold the concrete tubs, but I like yours also.

Right on... That should hold a few rats I'd say.
I need to get one of them on the go.
And I do like your design, it looks pretty simple.

Did it take you long to build?
I also like the way the screen top works, just kinda stays there while the bottom slides out... good idea!

It took a week, lol, only b/c my boyfriend and neighbor only worked on it when they were hanging out having a couple beers. Really it only took a few hours to build. We kind of followed Debora's (GA Ballpythons) DIY instructions and modified it a bit. It holds 8 tubs total that are 60 QTs each. I like the clear ones better than the cement tubs or whatnot. I figure that it should be able to hold:

1 male rack (when not in with females)
    2 maternity tubs
2 grow up tubs (one for males, one for females)
3 breeder tubs (with 2 or 3 females and 1 male)
I also have a couple tanks left for resting females, in addition to a wire cage that holds 2 females who are not going to be bred but left in with resting mommas.

I have 25 females and 5 males so the tub configuration may change. They are all going in today!!

Oh and thanks Judy, he is a sweetie. I really didn't need another male, but he was so cute and sweet that I couldn't feed him off.

You dont mind if I use your modified design?? lol
If so, I'll have to fight you for the design :matrixfig

I might just use it once I get into my new house...

    Thanks for sharing! :D

Looks good... the only thing I wouldn't like about it is I would still have to put the rodent block into the tubs since they are so deep. I like being able to feed from the outside so nothing gets wasted.

Very true, I have been trying to figure out a way around that.
