    BP Feeding Pics
Was woundering if any of you had some great shots of your snake munching on a mouse/rat. Kinda wanted to get an Idea on how big I should feed my snake. I started feeding her 2 times a week because I do not notice a bulge in her stomach after eating her Adult mice. I was thinking of rat pups or weined rats. Its is approx 6-9 months old about a 1 1/2 feet long. I dont know how much she weights yet I dont have a scale.

I attend to look at her head and wounder how in the heck with she be able to fit something that big in there cause she has a wee little head. She eats almost everything I've only tryed live adult mice and frozen. I'm thinking she needs rat pups or weined rats. I have some fourms up with pics of her so if anyone has any suggestion it would greatly be appreiated.

    Thanks

I don't think pics would help you. Look at his/her widest point of her body. And snag a mouse or rat that at its widest point is the same as your snake. Usually the hips area. Or a little smaller.

Go off of this and pick out a good little mouse/rat. And she will get it down. Don't worry.

Its funny though my snake is about the same size. Mine is a little longer though. And she's eating hopper mice. It gives her a little lump in the stomach so I know its a god size.

    She's growing fast though.

Just make sure it leaves a little lump in her stomach. A little one! And if she's taking adult mice with no problems. And there's no lump. Then a weanling rat or a small small would be in order. But I think that's too large for her.

how about rat pups? They are a little bigger and have more meat to them, Other then the adult mice.

Here's one constricting a hopper. He's just over 2 feet now and still gets hoppers. From what I understand you don't want a bulge- they say just to feed them prey about the same size as their girth.

I'm 99.9% sure a rat pup is the same size as a mouse hopper. Maybe a slight bit bigger. Check

    www.rodentpro.com

If she's eating adult mice with no lump in her tummy. Then a weanling or a small small rat would be in order.

one of my males about 5ft eats two adult rats and no bulge and he is still hungry after tht but 2 is good for him he is like 1700 grams. normaly wat I do is i feed them a rat pup ect. watever they eat and if it looks like their still hungry i give them a smaller verson of wat i gave them example. if it eats a rat pup and still looks hungry i offer a rat fuzzie and normaly they always take it so feed her 2 mice and if she still looks hungry offer a hopper but no more then tht you dont want to over do it

My girl is around 20 inches and gets hoppers. It leaves the tiniest little lump. That's why I said a little lump. If I didn't know she just ate I wouldn't even notice it. I have to look for it.

She doesn't get anything any bigger than her girth.
Same size as girth=faint little tiny lump for me.

Ok so I just checked out rodent pro.

I was wrong!!! Haha I obviously dont know the stages of rats lives.

I don't feed rats yet. The blood python will on friday though. I just got him.

I didn't check everything but you can see weights on both different stages of mice and rats.

Just shoot for something the same girth as your snake at its widest point or a little smaller.

Your finished pic has a bigger lump than mine does after eating a hopper.
