Most Unattractive Morph
Not too good with all the names just yet but there have been quite a few that seem a bit unattractive to me.
Do you have any of the top of your head?
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
personally, i've never been a big fan of the albino look.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
Id have to say none... They all are great.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I'm not a big fan of the Axanthic's their great as babys but not a big fan of the adults.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I find them all awesome/amazing...But then I think any snake is beautiful
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
Ok, put it this way.
If you had every morph possible in front of you and you could take all but one home.
Which would it be?
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I don't like Echis, granites, or ringers.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
well, first let me say this, i think that snakes are beautiful animals nomatter what, and i think it is pure art that they can be so many individual colors and patterns. BUT if i had to pick my least favorite...and i know im going to be attacked for this, but i honestly really dont like the way spiders look.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
My vote would have to be the Derma ball.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
WOW.
Never even seen the Derma. Seen a few tiny pics on google.
Can someone post some good pics of the Derma? Very odd.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
Hm.. I am not a big fan of whitesmoke albinos. They look like they have ticks!
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I don't know that I consider the Derma Ball a morph at all... it hasn't been proven yet, has it?
And if I could have every single morph except one... I'd leave the normal. I could always breed some recessives together and get more :D
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
im not sure, i saw the add for one on Fauna Classifieds once, but i don't have the link anymore, help anyone?
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
albinos are probably my least favorite.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
If you do a search on Fauna, you can get all kinds of threads about it... most of them not so great.
Pic I found:

Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I think Dermas would be cool if their whole body was smooth like that.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
The derma ball is nothing worse than a hairless rat or cat. I don't know why everyone thinks it is ugly! Different, definately.. but beauty is definately in the eye of the beer-holder, and everyone is entitled to their opinion.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I'm not too fond of the sable.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
if i have to pick, i'd say granites..... they just look like a dirty normal to me! lol! j/k
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I don't like granite's much either.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I like the dermas , but it probably requires the best husbandry practices. I'm sure the lack of scales can lead to some sort of medical problems such as skin disorders. But like hairless animals it has its' own unique look.
As I said before albinos are not a favorite of mine. Maybe when albino burms were the rage it was all you seemed to see.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I'd have to say axanthics myself. I think they're really nice as babies but the adults are not that great. If it weren't for the snows I don't think I'd ever bother getting one. But, I do like the snows so I probably will eventually.

Re: Most Unattractive Morph
Great thread,
I'm not a remote fan of the sables however if you asked my wife she'd say bee's.....
She hates them, especially as babies. She thinks that they look sickly with the whitish heads and weird markings. Oddly while she still cannot tell a mojo from a normal her favorite are ghosts.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
Yeah; I am not a fan of YBs that much, as a visual morph; they look pretty normal. But I am a fan of what they can produce; white snakes; they also clean-up the appearances of other morphs when crossed.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I would say that my least favorite is the ghosts and axanthics on their own. However if you mix them up with another morph like pastels man are they nice!
I am not a big fan of the albinos and snows either though the whole red eye thing is kinda freaky.
My boyfriend dosnt like the IMG's and sulfurs, but I dont know if those are proven morphs or not.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I would say the super cinny, funny thing is my first morphs were a pair of cinnys. :D
not a fan of any of the all white snakes either, to me the more pattern the better and tons of contrast too.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
Albinos (except lavender), Axanthics, Granite, Hypermelanistic...
Not saying they are ugly, but they are just snakes that I would never buy
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
The genetics behind it are awesome, but I really dislike the killer clown.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
To each their own... I think all morphs have great potential all in their own ways, but there are some I just don't care for.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
Not a fan of albinos or granites. I'm surprised so many other people feel the same way!
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
some of the base morphs are not all that great but the genes behind them are insane...ghosts are beautiful with how orange they are and the Honeybee is a dream right now! but i would have to agree that the axanthic is the snake i would most likely not buy, as babies they are beautiful but after a few sheds when she start to brown out they loose my vote. the snow they produce and some of the other combos are what make me think about investing in one
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
Hmm...personally, I don't like granites, sables, or pinstripes. Sables don't have any contrast, granites--it's all greek to me! They just look like normals--and pinstripes look...eh. I almost expect them to feel bumpy, although I know they wouldn't. I guess it's just the patterning. But I don't like them at all and don't even find any of the pinstripe crosses attractive.
I think all morphs have their value and the genetics are awesome, but those are just three I don't feel any urge to look at and coo over. ^-^;

Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I dont like Bumblebees that much.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I dont like piebalds...... :0
Im not much into normal albino's either....albino spiders are super nice though ;)
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I am a ball python SUPER FREAK! .... I have yet to see a ball python that I wouldn't kill to have for myself. They are all just soooo cool!!!
The only morphs that I don't like are the ones in other peoples collections! ... They should all be in MINE!! MINE I say!!! :P :carrot:

Ditto that! Never met a BP I didn't like. Actually don't really see the point of this thread?

Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I'm not a fan of pieds that have a lot of white...
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
Granite, calico, Albino (except Lav), Cinnamon, Derma, Patternless, Pewter, Sable.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I have never liked pinstripes. I don't even really like any of the pinstripe combos except one that Kara posted not to long ago.
I love albinos though so all take all the ones you guys don't want!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cinnies??? pewters??? really????
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I don't really like pewters, either. Although it is pretty amazing what the pastel gene and the cinny gene do to eachother.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I am not a big fan of spiders. Some of them look amazing and the crosses are nuts but the head wobble problem takes them off my list.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I think each morph & snake is beautiful and unique in it's very own and different way.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
I think they are all unique and beautiful but to each their own..
Personally, I don't like albinos or snows, or any derivative theirof.
Im a BIG fan of anerys and axanthics of any breed, I'm also starting to like pewters alot lately :)
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph

Re: Most Unattractive Morph
If I was forced, let me stress that, to pick one that was the least appealing to me, it would have to be the Spider Pied. I always like the pieds with some pattern in them.

Re: Most Unattractive Morph
Snakecharmer:
Here is a awesome thread that talks about spiders and their spinning and wobbly head issues: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showthread.php?t=44249
Here is another link on spiders who spin and why:
http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/foru...ad.php?t=95352
and last but not least here is a GREAT look in on it too written by Adam:

Re: Most Unattractive Morph
Boy, this was really, really hard for me. Usually if I don't care for the pattern or coloring of a ball, I almost always like at least one of the combos it makes. If I had to choose, it would probably be a sable.
-
Re: Most Unattractive Morph
Then you have to think of your opinion of "ugliness" within cerain morphs. For example, I love spotless Spiders, but am not too fond of ones with alot of spots. I am more fond of Pastels with alot of blushing than those with little or none. That sort of thing :)
