    one is out.. question!
OK.. one hatchling is out; the rest have their noses poking out. Should I leave the outie in the egg box in the incubator, or move him into a seperate tub? I was going to keep them together as per prior instructions and really did not want to give him his own tub just yet, but is he ok in the incubator with the constant temperature and little fresh air? I previously melted some airholes in the tubs and this helped with condensation during incubation, so it is not airtight.

Once mine were out of the egg I took mine out of the incubator and into individual tubs with some damp paper towel... there are many ways to deal with hatchlings and that was mine. Worked for me, good luck with yous :)

I really think they are 7 out of 8, pastels. The only normally looking one is in the bottom left hand corner. Hard to say for sure though!

I almost thought that all 8 were.. I was wondering if homozygous Pastels existed because of that. The straggler might actually be Pastel; I have not seen it that much and do not want to pry. :)
My dream would be that it's a female that resembles Ginger; their mother, and my favorite female.

Thanks! I am leaving the outie in with the eggs for the time being. I took out his shell because it was starting to look icky and really served no purpose. The others all have their noses near the openings, and I hope that they decide to come out soon!

I leave all of the babies in the egg box until the last one emerges from the egg. In my experience, it seems like the act of the other snakes crawling over the snakes still in the eggs prods the slow pokes to come out faster.

    Either way works.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you Adam. I just read your site's section on hatchling care. Awesome job; so many people advise about breeding and incubating until they are blue in the face, but really do not get into neonatal care. I am going to do things exactly as you stated. It will give me a week to build a little hatchling rack also :) Thank the snakie gods for scrap pieces of melamine from when we built the big rack.. just the right size.
I am just going to lay off of them for tonight and see what they feel like doing.. but dangit if I couldn't just pull them out of their shells. ;)
