    awesome caution update (pics)
so caution had a wonderful shed, it came off in pretty much one clean peice.. just a bit left on his tail and if it isnt gone tomorrow ill be sure to soak him. He looks more beautiful than the day we got him and the "burnt" looking scales are gone completely! (i could choke the person who didnt take care of him at the shop) his belly looks crystal clear, cant even tell there was ever a problem!

    heres the pics :carrot:

Wow...he looks a LOT like my boy Reshmar. Long neck stripe and all. He looks great.

My Reshmar had a problem on his back with what looked like scale rot, but the vet said it was more like a burn or a place where his shed had come off too soon in those places. I put some cream from the vet on it and he is perfect now. Shedding is amazing for fixing problems with scales!

I'm jealous of your super-cool shed, ashley! :)

Hopefully Milton's next one will be that good!

    What's the neosporin method?

    Re: awesome caution update (pics)
The neosporin/polysporin treatment can be used on snakes with burns, scale rot, skin irritations, etc. Simply wash the affected area with a 50% water/50% hydrogen peroxide mix, and then rub polysporin or pain-killer free neosporin into the affected scales.
Of course, it's always best to see a vet if the burns/rot is really bad.

Never use peroxide, it will actually hinder healing instead of aiding it. I prefer to use either saline, chlorhexidine, or betadine. Peroxide also doesn't clean anything, and really shouldn't be used on anything except to get blood out of clothing, IMHO :)
