    Corn snake watching TV???
Umm...do Corns see well? His tank in the living room is in such a position that the TV is visible from one end. Last night he was poking his head out of that end and seemed to almost be watching my partner playing God of War II.

He didn't seem at all annoyed or stressed by the TV, and after a while he slithered off around the other side. I was just curious if Corn snakes can see outside their tanks well.

Well I'm not sure if there's so sort of attraction to the movement or whatever, but this big BCI used to watch hockey with my husband all the time. No one would ever believe it, so I took a picture. :)

Oh I didn't mind Mike and the big snake watching hockey. It was when I'd get up to get a cup of coffee and hear this...

"hey hon, while you're up can you grab me a beer!"

"hey lady, while you're up can you grab me a rat!"

    hehehehehehehe

Once I was taking pictures of my BP and, at first, I was really worried about the flash stressing him out. But, the more pictures I took the more he interested he got. It was so funny because he was being so cooperative and standing up so much it looked like he was posing on purpose!

I definately think they like lit things.

The Boa and the python make sense because the TV is basically a large heat source and boids with their heat sensing pits would be attracted to it. Corn snake though? I don't know, maybe it's the movement? Or can corn snakes somehow sense heat from far away too?

I am not positive, but I don’t think they have heat pits. It they do, they are very small. I can’t see any on mine.

Our Boas' viv is across the living room in a direct line with the TV. Our sofa is in front of their viv. One night my husband was watching TV and Zig, our male BCI was sitting, head on log watching over my husband's shoulder. Hubby fell asleep and his head lolled over and blocked out Zig's view. Zig then raised himself up (like the Python in the pic) so he could look over my husband's head. It's not the first time he's done that. You have to see it yourself to believe it. I wonder if it's the movement on the TV...but then again maybe the snake likes watching TV. Wonder if his favourite channel is "Animal Planet":D

I have a baby corn that's just getting big enough to even hold (just big enough so I don't have to make sure and get him a small pinkie). He's getting this look around his mouth like he's growing a moustache. I thought it was tiny little heat pits. Guess not.... I should get out the magnifying glass and have a good look.

Boas do not have heat 'pits' but DO have heat sensitive scales. All Boids have heat sensing mechanisms on their heads except for I believe the aspidites (womas and black headed pythons)

Colubrids do not have these ways of detecting heat.
