Re: Just finished cage. PICS
All I need is some LED lights from lowes. And a bigger snake! HAHhHAaa
Re: Just finished cage. PICS
is there something over the flexwatt right now?
it's very nice looking!
Re: Just finished cage. PICS
no...just like that....I have a helix control. So I think im good  right? Maybe a peice of tile later.
Re: Just finished cage. PICS
You'll probably want to seal some plexiglass around it to protect it from WETNESS. ;) The helix is great, but you'll want to prevent problems from spills and piddle puddles.
Looks great!!! Wanna come build some for me??? :please: :please: ??Plllleeeeeeease?!?????? :D
Re: Just finished cage. PICS
Looks great. very professional looking. how tight do those doors fit? I was wondering if you will get any air flow in there,or did I not see some vent holes? I must also advise puting something over the flex.
Nice work
Re: Just finished cage. PICS
doh! those are vent holes. I thought they were screws. :)

would love to but that kind of far to bring all tools and stuff. lol.
As far as the FW goes...ill look around lowes for something to cover it. thanks again guys plus gals...
Re: Just finished cage. PICS
yea you defiantly need something to cover the flexwatt. one little water spill or a little bp pee on it and there is a chance for electrocution. you could get some linoleum or a thin piece of tile flooring, plexiglas, or maybe a piece of glass. then just seal it with some silicone to make it water proof.
other wise remove the flexwatt and get a radiant heat panel. they mount on the top of the case and heat down into the cage, kind of like a ceramic heater, but alot better.
if the tools are to far away or whatever and you can't seal the flex.... you're going to have some cool looking book shelves...

ohh...i sealed the connections with silicone...ill have pics of it when I get home....just concerned if the aluminum tape will hold and no fluids will leak through under the tape....
I made sure i waterproofed it....but ill look into it.
Re: Just finished cage. PICS
Use a piece of vinyl flooring from Lowes or Home Depot. It works good in the bottom of my cages to keep the flexwatt dry. Very easy to clean and cheap.

what about that? not the best work/part of sealing, but the substrate would cover it up. I also laid a peice of aluminum in between the connections. I was careful not to connect touch the connections too.
Do aluminum tape conduct electricity?
I just got the sheets...how would I set them up? Because the connections are in the way? anyone with pics would help a looot.
I couldnt find the glossy ones in a big size...sucks..
Does it matter?
Re: Just finished cage. PICS
aluminum does, so I assume the tape does as well. I haven't used the tape before so I can't say for sure.
Re: Just finished cage. PICS
the edges aren't the problem its the whole area. the way flex works is it runs a current through an element which heats up cause of the current. if this get wet there is a high risk of electrocution. a water bowl spill, a little pee, even damp substrate. you need to have something covering the entire piece of flexwatt not just the edges. tile flooring linoleum flooring, plexiglas, anything.
