    Thinking of slitting...
I am thinking of slitting Ginger's eggs at Day 55. I am still debating because I am afraid that they can't get out as I have read about hatchlings being stuck. Then I am scared that I could slit too early and harm them that way! I can see them moving in the eggs when candling.. gosh this is togh.

I always wait if I'm going to cut an egg until at least one has pipped in the clutch.

Jennifer... I am not gonna lie, when I first read the title I was like "WTF!!!". Then I noticed it was in the bp breeding section and that you were talking about cutting open the eggs and I felt like an idiot. Blame my suicide paranoia.

LOL. But yea, knowing myself I would probably be a "cutter" if I had eggs in the oven as I lack patience.

I think I would wait, just to be more surprised when they start pipping.

Yeah, it's depressing... I have 4 healthy eggs at day 55 today... one went bad a few weeks ago... waiting sucks... I'm thinking about cutting... I'm going to go listen to some Hinder and old Staind as I contemplate cutting...

...and what's so funny about that is I listen to country...

    LOL

    lol..!
It is so fascinating. I candled Bela's eggs for the first time at Day 46, and WOW! One of them was pretty close to the egg surface and I could make out its whole pattern and everything, though I did not see the head. They have got to be Pastels; they look like black-on-white from what I can see. I am going to refrain from cutting for awhile.
    Not that kind of cutting!!

    Congrats Ken.
Justin, your 2 year anniversary is in October of 2007. When that day hits, you'll be a veteran.

    Jen,
If you decide to cut, and need some support, feel free to give me a call. I actually have 2 clutches in the bator that I cut, and 1 that I am letting pip. I let a clutch completely pip on it's own for the first time this year. I have some theories about the hatchlings that came from that clutch, so I am going to let another pip. I am thinking about letting the rest of my clutches pip this year, in an attempt to prove or disprove my theory. I will definitely write about my theory on here, once I can figure it out a bit more. Hope some of that helps.

See now you have us curious and squeeling with anticipation!

How about a preview of your theory? I like proving/disproving my own theories all the time... it's fun ;) Give us the pros and cons or whatever.

Awesome! I think that if it gets to day 60, I might make a tiny incision in the eggs. I just have nightmares about babies that are too small, not making it out because of this. Grr.. danged eggs making me a basket case, a few weeks before our wedding!

I was under the impression that the babies don't get thier color until the last few days before pipping. Not to bum you out but they may not have thier color yet.

    Thanks Raul :)
I am nt sure about the color thing? Some of the babies in the egg looked "normaller" than others; a bi darker. But then again it is hard to see. Time will tell! Even if they are all normals, as long as they're healthy, I will be glad.

Yea, what kind of clutch is it? Normal x Morph, het x morph, normal x normal, etc. Just curious.
