My ball doesn't ball anymore
I guess that means it's used to being handled a lot now. Loves being a "necklace." Maybe I should call it my Necklace Python. :)
Re: My ball doesn't ball anymore
sounds like you're treating him right. it's always a good sign when the finally relax around you.
Re: My ball doesn't ball anymore
both of my adult males have stopped balling up completely. :P
Re: My ball doesn't ball anymore
Do they ball up or behave differently with other people, or are they as comfortable as they are with you? Sounds like you've taken great care to provide them all they need in terms of habitat and safety.]
Re: My ball doesn't ball anymore
My three year old girl has only ever balled up ONCE, and that was recently, when she was ready to shed and almost totally blind, and I picked her up unexpectedly. Other than that, she's never tried, I think some of them are just lazy!
I have a young one that balls up once in a while but mostly loves to explore.
Re: My ball doesn't ball anymore
Sounds like a happy snake ;)
My boy was about 6 months old when I brought him home and is about a year right now. I have yet to see him ball up. At first I was thinking something was wrong with him until I read up here.
Re: My ball doesn't ball anymore
mine stayed ina ball for the 1st few hours that we had him.... then you can tell he got really comffy with us
Re: My ball doesn't ball anymore
mine has stopped hiding, haha. She now just posts up wherever she wants to when she's in her enclosure. It's official, this snake has NO chance of survival out in the wild
Re: My ball doesn't ball anymore

ours get really reserved (almost scared like) when we have friends over.. they refuse to come out of their hides, we dont even take them out anymore when other people are here.. i think its the raise in noise level though :sabduel:
Re: My ball doesn't ball anymore
My pastel doesn't ball up either anymore. I have to try and smack him around a bit to get him to pose for pictures. :D
Kidding... ::rolleyes
Re: My ball doesn't ball anymore
Mine do the same thing. It has to be something other than noise, snakes are deaf. Maybe its just smells or a different taste in the air that they are not use to.
Re: My ball doesn't ball anymore
My one and only bp has never balled up, EVER! :D :D :D
Re: My ball doesn't ball anymore
I have to say my guy only balls up when he is fast asleep check him out in the BPOM thread #5
Re: My ball doesn't ball anymore
My ball and I go on evening walks together since it's been so warm lately. He is around my neck with his head hanging down my chest and he will stay there the whole time. He's very comfortable with me. My husband tried it with him and the snake was crawling all over his head and was doing circles around his neck. Very funny.
Our evening walk last night, we bypassed a woman who said hi in passing, but as soon as we passed her, she said "Oh my god, is that a snake around your neck? I thought it was a awfully big necklace at first glance!". HA HA
Re: My ball doesn't ball anymore
lol, nice...
I hate trying to take pictures of mine because they seem more interested in sniffing the cats than posing...
