    No.She.Didn't!
So when I clean house, I put on my MP3 player and sing. I'm told I sing loudly....doesn't seem like it to me
I'm also told I'm very pitchy. Ok yeah, I can't sing. But I love doing it, anyway. :D

Everyone in Dallas knows that the American Idol tryouts are coming here soon, and I've made a few jokes about going, haha. Yeah.

So I'm happily singing and cleaning and dancing and having a grand time. I take out my earbuds to talk to my darling teenager about something. Then she says "You know mom, you really should try out for American Idol."
I got a nice, warm, happy feeling. Wow, have I improved that much? "Oh yeah???" *SMILE*
"Yeah, that would be the funniest thing I've ever seen!"
    POW! OOOOOOUCH!!!!!

So maybe I should try out. Wouldn't becoming the next William Hung be the perfect revenge on a girl who has to show her face in high school???

Yup, that apple did not fall far from this tree. Maybe she should go for "Last Comic Standing". HEH

Yeah, Nick, I've always been in that 70% tryouts only....this last season was the first time I've watched it all the way through.

Oh good lord.... I've got tears in my eyes from laughing over here. I think you should do it! It would serve her right. Oh and make sure to dedicate your performance to HER!!! :giggle:

(I'm totally in the same boat! I love to sing, but I can't carry a tune in a bucket  Although in my defense, I usually try and refrain in front of other people or I warn them  )

Haha, Ashley, NO ONE can hurt ya like your teen, it's true!

Whooo, I got Post of the Day!
I love to get up and do karaoke, after drinking enough....or too much? I've got a friend who fills up the dance floor when she sings Proud Mary. That has *never* happened to me

HAHAHAHAHAHA It's a long standing joke in our family that when the three older kids were little I used to holler up the stairs at them at night..."if you three don't settle down mamma is going to come up there and sing at you!" Wish it was a joke! LOL But heck it worked!

Worked at the grocery store too with those three. If they acted up I threatened to sing along with the muzak. If that didn't bring them around, I'd offer to add in some ever so lovely choreography. Folks always said I had the best behaved kids in the store. hehehehehehe :D

the way i see it is little boys love their mommys forever, i hope to not have to worry about little miss thing as we dont have one lol.. im sure their words can sting a bit, i know growing up i said a few things that hurt a bit to my mother.

Again, little boys love their mommys forever, my husband is a perfect example of that, no matter what happens!

    lol!

    That is too funny Sarah.

    I LOVE TO SING!

It is one of my most favorite things to do. I used to be in all the school choirs and junk.

My kids always tell me they love to hear me sing. but I don't think it is necessarily because I sound so wonderful but they know I am happy when I am singing!

    :D

You're so right there Ashley. I have two daughters and two sons. The boys will either tell me I look good in something (funny enough usually followed by a request for money, an extra cookie or some such thing) or do the typical male thing where they don't actually look and just mumble "that looks nice" (hey I'll take a complement any which way I can get it! lol)

My girls will actually critique the outfit, discuss the relative size of my hips, comment on the fact that my hair needs a bit of a root touch up and suggest a new bra if they think "the ladies" aren't looking their best!

I can't wait for my daughters to have daughters of their own...revenge is going to be ever so sweet LOL.

You're right there Sarah. Boy infants learn pretty darn quick how to charm mamma and that doesn't much disappear as they mature into young boys and men.

Whenever my girls are a bit too honest and I say something, they both give me that blink-stare thing and say "well mother you DID ask!" :D

PS I get back at them by still insisting on putting my ponytail back in a scrunchie....which makes my almost 20 year old gag and mumble under her breath! lol

Oh I have to add in Burpie the Magic Dragon! Mike made up this hilariously cute baby song for our son Mikey when Mikey was a baby and having trouble with gas. It was all about this little magic dragon who couldn't burp and make fire and so forth. We even went out and found a stuffed dragon for Mikey. I so wish I had written down all the lyrics....it's was awfully sweet!

Oh and it made Mikey belch...whooohooo! (until you have a baby that's gassy...you'll never understand the pure pleasure of a great big BABY burp). :)
