Something a little... Kinky (DUW)

You all know what I'm talking about! Without further ado, the beautiful boa herself... I present, Kinky!

These were taken this evening in natural sunlight... I think they brought out her colors very well. A couple show off her disabilities, as well (for all of you that don't know her story... this is what ignorance can do).

What's her disability?

She's gorgeous reguardless.

That aside, she is beautiful. I agree that her face is her best feature. :)

Kinkers is a rescue, so I'm not really sure how she came to be the way she is. When I received her, she was pretty much as you see in these pics... her kinks stretch from just behind her head all the way down to the very tip of her tail.


I have taken her to the vet and had her examined... his two theories were that she was either dropped or severly mishandled as a newborn, or her mother was dropped or severly mishandled when she was gravid.

Either way, she's quite possible the sweetest snake I have ever had the fortune to care for. Never a hiss, never a strike... she takes longer to eat than other snakes (because it takes her awhile to get herself straightened out and situated) and she gets a little frightened when you pick her up---she will literally wrap herself as tight around you as she can. She has a very deep fear of falling and not being fully supported...

Just goes to show... don't jump into the breeding game without reading up, boys and girls!

Are those kinks in her spine? I can't even imagine how you could inflict that kind of damage... I wonder if it's some kind of herp arthritis or sculiosis... was she full grown when you rescued her?

Awww there's that sweet face. She looks wonderfully fit and healthy despite her issues hon. :)

Thanks all! On a side note, these pics were taken almost right outside the back door---while my parents and sis were sitting on the deck. Didn't seem to bother them much... and while I wouldn't say they like her, they seem to have a lot more toleration for her big butt than any of my smaller snakes.

And my sis even let my bring my niece down in the grass and touch Kinky. Another herper in the fam? I hope!
