    Links in signatures?
OK, so I've re-read the rules and TOS. It says no posting of links for the purpose of dirrecting members to a competing (for lack of a better word) site... which is understandable.
My husband and I have a new forum that is just a general forum, suitable for all ages. It does not have a "theme" and is not animal/pet based.
My question is, can I put a small, not obnixous link, in my signature to our forum or is there another place I could put it so members can see it and check it out if they want to?
If none of the above is allowed, that's cool, I understand that. :D
    Thanks,
    Denise

    LOL
I guess I'm use to forums where it takes a week and a half for staff to reply. :(

Not in the forums I run either but.... I guess some forums (and their staff) are cooler than others. ;)

Well, I'm not really new, been here since December. I just don't come in a whole lot because this forum is sheer torture for me. :P
I usually stay in the Invertebrate section because if I wonder around too much in the other parts of the forum, I start drooling uncontrolably.

I've run many a forum in my time so knowing the rules/TOS is something I tend to take a bit more seriously. While yes, most TOS are pretty standard, each forum has their own that they toss in and *those* are the ones that members need to know rather than just assuming that all rules are the same no matter where you go.

Like my general forum for example, it is not against the rules to completely hijack a thread (we're actually quite good at it. :D) as long as it's being done in fun and in good taste, but God forbid you do that in other forums! However, it IS against our rules to have god aweful obnixously large graphics/banners in your sig whereas other forums don't care.

Well, you're definitely cookie-worthy in my book, no matter how long ya been here!

We tend to be fairly tolerant of hijacks as well, although if the information being sought hasn't been offered up yet, we try to steer things back on course. And we've also got some fairly strict limits on sigs for the same reasons you mentioned. I think we'll get along great! :D

    Chocolate chip!!!!!!!! :D
<----jumps in head first, sinks to the bottom... HEEELLLLPPP!

We're the same way. If it's a thread that requires info. that has to come first but the name of the forum pretty much gives it away. ;)
We're a bunch of dorks who wanted to create a place where you can go to just hang out, laugh, joke with each other, raz each other and not get all stressed out over tight cheeked forums (like some we use to be members of).
It's not the place for everyone, that's for sure, but if ya got a good sense of humor and know how to just kick back and have a good time with a complete stranger via a computer monitor, then you'd probably have fun there. My husband and I are very laid back people who like to have a place to just have fun, share stuff, goof off and be totally imature sometimes. :D

We do have our "serious" stuff too though.
