Two females 1 male breeding??
Hi I just wanted to know, can you breed a male to two females in the same month? Imean is it possible. I know if you over exhaust a Bp it can die. I would appreciate your comments for the good and health of my snakes for next breeding season.

You can breed more than one female to that same male.
and yes it is 100% possible to kill a male by breeding it to much or to early. This is why is so important to have your animals healthy, eating regularly, and of proper breeding age and weight.
Your planning on breeding next year how old and what size is your Mojave ??

Also, you might want to consider getting the female soon...the closer to breeding season the more expensive breedable females will become (and harder to find good and healthy ones). Keep in mind that the female will need to be 1500grams + and ideally 3+ years old.

Its cool. It might be.
My advice I just noticed that you just got your first ball spend some time getting to know the animal. There is a huge learning curve with reptiles. To go from having your first ball to breeding in a couple of months is a huge jump. But thats just my two cents.

A one year old male would be fine assuming it of proper weight and healthy and the girls are at least 1500 grams or three years old or both.
Good luck with those guys and gals. :D
What other balls do you have..We love pics here:D

Re: Two females 1 male breeding??
Hey another thing, sorry for all the questions i appreciate all you guys comments and help. I want to produce mojaves with two normal females.
What type of female would you breed to a mojave? A more reduced patterned female or a female with a bunch of alien eyes? Im currently looking for one with a bunch of alien eyes to match the mojave.

Depends on what you like. I like reduced Mojos so I'd breed to a genetic banded for the predictable reduced bit. But thats just me :D

Male ball pythons can get their mind set on sex and nothing else and will literally breed themselves to death. I am not sure that this happens very often but it can happen. That is why, like previously stated, you need to make sure that they are of proper weight and age.

Re: Two females 1 male breeding??
Hm.. breeding one male to 2 females in the same month..?
I bred my one male to 2 females last season (for eggs now.) I wold rotate; I left him with one girl for about 7-10 days. I then let him rest, gave him a meal in his tub for about a week, and put him with my other girl then. He is only an '05, so I did not want to strain him
He bred both girls and I am incubating their eggs now!

Re: Two females 1 male breeding??
wow thats so cool, thanks for the encouragement. Cant wait till next sept.

Re: Two females 1 male breeding??
My male is an August 06 Lemon Pastel and I started cooling everyone in December, and started placing him with females in late January/early February. I would put him with one female for three days, place him by himself, feed him, then let him rest for three more days, and then he was placed with the second female. He stayed with her for two days, got to rest for a day, got fed, then rested for two to three more days. I rotated him through two females this way until each of them stopped accepting him, and ovulated. I have two clutches in the incubator from him, 13 eggs total, and all are still good. One is due to hatch any day now, and the other is due to hatch late this month.
He never did stop eating during the whole process and would regularly take 2 large mice per feeding(every 6 days). He weighed around 490g at the beginning of the breeding season(not that I recommend breeding a young male, it was just very successful for me and the snake did not stress or go off feed), and Orth is currently 900g and not even a year old. I hope his offspring look just as good as he does :)

Yea as long as they are over the 500 gram mark some will breed. So will breed earlier.

Re: Two females 1 male breeding??
Yes, he wasn't very old at all, but he was of a healthy weight, didn't stress during the whole season, nor did he stop eating. If he had stopped eating, I would have removed him and quit cycling him. I should find out what his offspring look like in the next few days :)

It happens more often than you think.

Re: Two females 1 male breeding??
I should add.. the male has to be a good weight before breeding. I would not even think of attempting to breed a male that was not eating regularly. But I am not saying to pump him up fast in order to breed (power-feeding) or to make him look like a stuffed sausage. Svelte.. healthy, sleek male is the goal.
I, like some others, did not cycle. This is my first year of breeding, in earnest, but I have two healthy clutches incubating and all of my breeders are recuperated and healthy. :)
