Re: Some forest pics
That is the beauty of where we live. Northern Ireland is probably only as big as some of the smallest states in the USA, only 1.7 million people inhabit this small piece of land. Scotlands only an hour away on the ferry and we can be in the Highlands in less than four hours by car. Pollution is very low, smog is virtually non-existant. Our seas are getting cleaner every year, all waste is properly treated now, no more raw sewage getting pumped out. As for construction and property building theres very strict planning approvals to go through. Especially along the coast, no buildings to be more than three storeys high or less, depending on the locality.
Also with the Troubles hopefully being left in the past, we are seeing more and more tourists every year. People are able to come and see what a beautiful and fertile land we live on.
I highly recommend to anybody planning on coming to Ireland, start off in the north east and work your way down. You will not be disappointed

How beautiful :) it makes me happy to see unspoiled wilderness in other countries as well as here at home.

I'm always happy to see that you've posted a picture thread, fergie! What a beautiful country, and you take wonderful photos.

Re: Some forest pics
Hi Ginevive, we are very lucky to be surrounded by areas of unspoilt wilderness. The pictures i have put up, as well as other ones i took recently, are places that are only a ten to fifteen minute drive from my house. Hopefully over the summer i'll be able to get a lot more pics taken of other areas of the country. As for Oscar, he would love nothing better than to get a charge at them sheep or for that matter anything that moves lol.
Sarah thanks for the kind words about the photographs. Anytime i'm out i always take my camera with me. Most of the time the pics take themselves. I have a very basic Fuji finepix 4.0 mega pixel camera but hoping to upgrade soon. The wife is on at me to join a local camera club but i don't really see my pics as being that good but i think i will so as to stop the ear-ache. I jest, of course

Re: Some forest pics
I spent a week in southern ireland last year, and loved it. Beautiful country for sure. I couldn't beleive how green everything was. I wouldn't mind going back if I get the chance, here are a couple of pics I got while I was there.

Re: Some forest pics
Beautiful pics, Rik. The Cliffs of Moher are one of the most stunning areas in the whole of Ireland. I especially like the way you can clearly see the sedimentary layers on the cliff faces
