holds up left hand!!!

okay, so laura got me thinking (yes i can think believe it or not!) any other lefties out there?

i use mine for eating and writing... otherwise i use both or the right. no left handed scissors for me... even though the teachers refused to let me have right handed scissors in school so i had a heck of a time getting those leftie scissors to rip the paper with my right hand LOL

I am a righty from a lefty family and married a lefty wife, so I'm surrounded by 'em! :rolleyes: :P . I was forced to be left handed for about 6 weeks when I was 12 and broke my right arm. I got pretty good and writing, drawing, playing tetherball (best ball-and-string game ever!!) with my left. I wish I had kept it up though, now I think it is plotting against me (it is the sinister hand....:O)

I'm a lefty!! But like you, I only write and do a few other things with my left. Left handed sissors are the bane of my existance...I couldn't use those to save my life. :P Most sports and things I use my right (and I can't throw with either hand haha)

My mom was born a lefty, but they wouldn't let her use her left hand when she was in school, so she is now right handed. That happened to a friend of mine as well, but I think it was his parents, not the teachers, that wouldn't let him be left handed.

I am a lefty. I don't have any ability to even hold a fork properly in my right hand. Its very strange.

I'm ambidextrous... does that count? :D

Lefty here, I can’t do a thing with my right hand, not even the simple things in life.


Funny anecdote: when I was in first grade and started to learn reading and writing I was doing it backward :rolleye2: from right to left.

ya my teacher in school... made me choose a hand as i was fully ampedextrus (sp) until then. she'd wack my hand with a ruler whenever i changed hands...

so i guess wiping your butt with your right is out of the question jamie? and you always need to sleep on the left side of the bed when you have a lady friend over? (i know my hubby is fully right handed and can't use his left hand to save his life LOL)

Lefty here too. It's good to be left handed until you need to use something that was designed for a right hander. I can't use scissors to save my life, and every guitar store has only one left handed guitar in stock so I always have to order.

Dads a lefty my mom is a righty.

I shoot basketball left handed, can switch hit. Thats just alittle bit of what I do with my left hand.

Im a lefty, cant do much with my right hand, but I can throw a baseball, cant tell you where it will go but I can throw it.:)

I do most things lefty, but oddly enough I do sports righty. I could never wear a mitt in baseball/softball because I throw AND catch with my right hand.

I'm an odd one - I can only write with my right hand, and I can only eat with my left. I can't do either with the other hand.

i am right handed and my husband is left handed. i think you are supposed to use your knife in your left hand when eating if you are a righty but that never worked for me so i switch (fork in left hand, knife in right) whenever i have to cut something. my left arm is also slightly stronger than my right, which is odd because it's supposed to be your dominate hand/arm that is stronger. all that means though is that i carry heavy stuff with my left hand/arm.:)

I was a lefty to begin with but my parents and the school syestem thought that was a bad thing so they kept moving the pencil to my right hand,to this day my writing looks like a second grader might try and teach myself to write with my left hand.Our son seems to be pretty much ambidextrous he uses one hand for somthings the other for others and sometimes useses both for the same thing will let time sort him out.

I am a lefty also. I write left hand, throw left hand. I bat right handed. It's wierd at work when cutting meat i hold the knife and cut with my right hand. I think its from always holding my fork when eating in the left hand.. Theres guys at work who are lefties and cut with thier left hand..strange.... And im the only lefty on both my moms, and my dads side...strange...:rolleyes:

Lol... I would stab myself! Strange though... I think my right arm is stronger, but with 0 skills!

My grandfather fell into a fire when he was 2 and crippled his right arm... so no one knows if he was a true leftie, or just adapted. If not, then I too am the only traceable leftie! Pretty cool! :D

It's totally strange, cuz the only thing i can do is use a knife in the right...other then that i look like a complrtr re-re throwing a ball..lol.. and my left arm is way strongre then my right....so i always show the ladies the left arm FLEX......:cool:

I'm a lefty too. I can write with my right hand (sorta) and I play fingerstyle guitar right handed.. but for most things my right hand is pretty lame.

I have to use left handed scissors.. had to use righties growing up, but they never worked well for me. Now I'm the only lefty groomer at work so no one steals my scissors. (yay)

I'm a lefty. But I only use right hand scissors, only kind we had in school. As far as welding I can use both pretty well. Had to learn that trick to get into hard to access places with the gun.:)

I'm predominantly a (natural) right-hander, but after 2 breaks of the wrist and arm, and two surgeries (the first break happening on the last day of school :( :mad: ), I'm now ambidextrous. I spent the entire first summer playing catch w/my little sister, learned to eat, throw (and everything else) left handed.


By the 2nd break, and the two subsequent surgeries...I can even write lefty.....but it looks like a third grader's. Not neat, but it is legible (barely :rolleyes: ). My mom hates me, b/c when she hurt her arm, she (almost) had to be fed....she couldn't use her left hand for anything with any sort of coordination or skill. (Snickering w/lots of love):rolleye2:

Like my hubby Mike (McAdry) said we are still not sure what's up with our son Mikey. I'm right handed, Mike even though he uses his right had is "genetically" a leftie and Mikey just doesn't seem to have a completely dominant hand. We never promoted one hand over the other as he was learning to use utensils and pencils and such. We'd place the item dead center and let him choose which hand he used. It's odd how he'll start eating with his right hand and halfway through dinner casually switch to his left. He does seem to mostly write using his right hand but his printing looks like that of a left handed child (and he struggles with fine motor skills with printing). He shows no preference in sports either...using both left and right hand skills at various sports.

Lefty here too.... And no, I can't do anything with the right... hehe.. i do mean ANYTHING.
