    urinating everynight??
My ball python seems to recently be urinating almost every night, in the past week or so ive noticed ive had to clean it out almost every night. Is this something i should be worried about??

I don't have any advice, but I will share my experience with you.
One of my snakes did this same thing a few months back. She would empty her water bowl daily, and pee every night. This lasted about a week and half, and just when I really started to freak and was ready to call my vet, she stopped. She has been normal since then!

I have no idea what that was about, though. Don't hesitate to call a vet if you are concerned! I certainly would have if it had gone on any longer.

i appreciate the response, i have yet to be concerned my snake seems to be healthy and normal, its just weird to have to clean the cage every night you know lol

Aleesha, I don't think it was really hot at the time. It was Emily, and she's in a rack with 7 other snakes, but she was the only one doing this.

jd (sorry, I don't know your actual name!), believe me, I know what you mean! The constant cleaning of that one tub was crazy.

Is your snake drinking a lot? Mine was emptying her water dish almost daily. I would have been more concerned if she was showing signs of dehydration, but she seemed fine.

isn't it weird how sometimes a kid or critter will do something so odd... and sometimes you never do figure out the why.

(not saying you won't figure out the why here)

Heh, Aleesha, that is so true!

    Hi Mike, I'm Sarah :D
I would definitely watch for signs of dehydration, and hopefully someone who knows more about this will chime in soon. Do you know of a good herp vet in your area?

    Re: urinating everynight??
There's a link somewhere of a list of herp vets. Anyone have that handy?

I know that one sign of dehydration is dented/creased eyes. I think another is skin creases that go along the body.

ohh dented eyes like when the humidity is too low gotcha, now these creases are they long ways or short ways?

Long ways from what I understand. I'm not an expert on this subject, though. I think most of the really helpful people are asleep at this hour, haha.

My bp was doing the same thing. He will be a yr old in Aug.
He would ur like 5 days out of 7 after eating. I didn't notice any increase in water intake.
I contacted the breeder I got him from and he said that it was pretty normal.

If he seems ok in every other way and is eating fine I would just keep an eye on him.
A trip to the vet is a good idea just to be safe. A good check up is always a good thing :)

I think younger bps are like young kids, puppies etc and just ur quite a bit.
My other bp who turned a yr old yesterday has settled down a bit on the ur's to about twice a week after eating.

My 4 yo old bp ur's about once evey 7-10 days and boy it is a huge one :)

    Hope this helps you out.

I noticed your in N. Potomac, Md.
