When I used to go visit my Great Grandma she had this huge garden...you would see them all over the place. Sometimes they would even get into the house, and I was the only one not afraid of them.

That was years ago and I haven't seen any of them sense. Sad really.

I don't even see the common box turtle in the yard anymore. :(

Awesome find though, and beautiful pictures.

    Great pictures and great find!!

I found a newborn ribbon snake on my back porch the other day...it was caught in a spider web.....I gladly set it free. They are so fragile when they are so small.

They've really gotten rare around here too. I remember when I lived in NC they were all over the place, then before I moved they were hard to find. I see a few more down here in 'Bamer but not as many as I used to find on my little summer trips to the old farm. I wonder whats causing this?

Wow I wish I had reptile wildlife in my back yard...being at an apartment complex I don't have a backyard but we do have a herd of bunnies around here.

I agree it seems here in charlotte their numbers are down. I remember when I first moved here about 8 or so years ago, I'd see 2 or 3 a day in the spring/summer and now im lucky if i see 1 a week.
