    High temps in the garage
We've been getting hit with a heat wave in S.Calif this week and the temp. in my garage has been going up. My ball is housed in a glass enclosure with uth and heatlamp . Temps and humidity are on but during the afternoon the garage heats up the entire enclosure. I will switch off the all forms of heat and mist the enclosure down pretty well. Believe me, if my wife would let me bring my balls inside, I would do it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately I can't leave my garage door open all day so I set up a little fan to direct some air on to the enclosure. Right now the temps are hovering in the low 90's without any heat but when I park my truck inside it raises it considerably. Was wondering for those ballers in AZ , NV, TX who house their balls outside of their home, what they could recommend to keep the temps down. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

a big fan(24/36") or window ac unit will help the temps. it is necessary to use thermostats on all your heating devices, especially when temps are that high.

too cold the snake gets sick, too hot it will just die...

How about bringing your BP in your house instead of leaving it in the garage

I could not imagine having a BP outside or in a garage. Especially in SoCal.

I got that but then why have one? It is sort of like having a dog that you only allow to live outside regardless of the weather conditions...isn't fair to the animal.

Is there any possibility of a compromise? For instance mine are in a closet off of the spare bedroom. Would she allow that? Allow, heck... What is she going to do if you just do it?

The garage is my haven (cars, motorcycles, work bench, posters of scantily clad women). It was a compromise with the wife. In the garage or no balls at all. I had bearded dragons before in the garage and the temps were great. I set up a fan with a timer so it will shut off at night. Right now the temps are perfect with the fan. Will probably leave the garage door slightly open to allow more air in. Just like in all marriages, there is a thing called compromising and flexibility. She sets rules for my snakes and I set rules for my mother-in-law when she visits (who should be in the garage:D ). Having the balls in the garage works out great. I see them several times a day going to and from work and also when I work in there. I have a freezer in there that hold all of my frozen mice. Since we have the A/C on 24/7 in the house, the temps would be quite cold.
