Anyone have this picture?
The other night I was checking out old post on the giant pythons forum and came across and picture with a guy and his kid with 2 albino burmes, or retics (can't remember). They were huge, and I think eating 60 LBS pigs, and kept in there own room together. I guess it was a picture from a old member who lives in canada? I wanted to show it to a person who is not ready from a giant python, but thinks they are.

Re: Anyone have this picture?
holy mac, thats some large and pretty albino. i would never have a huge snake, i would always get a bit worried about it randomy seeing me as food and killing me. something tht size could more then likly swallow me. lol
imagine if it got sick and you have to rush it to the vets, i dont think a pick up truck could handle the weight. also is it a good idea to have 2 of them togher? just random thoughts. but cool looking snakes. thats 1 kid tht will grow up not being scared of snakes.

Re: Anyone have this picture?
IMO thats usually wrong because its usually done with over feeding and people just want the biggest snake they can get at the fastest rate possible. Pretty snake though. Kinda a pitty it's so fat.

Re: Anyone have this picture?

Re: Anyone have this picture?

Re: Anyone have this picture?
thats sick. its overweight, the guy just wanted to look "cool" and have a big snake so he over fed it. he must be trying to compensate (sp) for something

Re: Anyone have this picture?
Gotta agree with Jason on that one, plus it doesn't look to sanitary down there.

Re: Anyone have this picture?

It's never a good idea to keep two snakes together. Too many problems that could come up...

Re: Anyone have this picture?
yeah, those are disgustingly fat! i saw an albino burmese on display (in a tourist town) that wasn't quite that fat but close. it was so sad!

Re: Anyone have this picture?
I don't get how people can turn such a beautiful snake like that into such an ugly snake.... :(
Nice living conditions as well :colbert:

Re: Anyone have this picture?
Just a good training pic on 1. How big they can get and 2. How NOT to feed your burm < or better yet...what an obese burm looks like >.
I hope his vet makes house calls!! Otherwise, in case of a snake medical emergency, that guy is S.O.L.

Re: Anyone have this picture?
I figured there were a couple of people who have not seen that pic yet. Really made me think twice about a future berm purchase!

Re: Anyone have this picture?
it looks pretty sick, cos its so fat, i bet they just lie there all day, saying/thinking 'god i wish i could move'. poor animals... he prob just wanted to look cool with 2 huge snakeys.

Re: Anyone have this picture?
I don't like that pic. The kid is right within eyeshot of the snake, and I could definately see the snake mistaking the kid for a prey item and grabbing him. Then it'd be another "tragedy" where some poor child gets strangled by a big snake, and everyone would be clamoring to make snakes illegal to own, and anyone with kids, grandkids, nieces or nephews under the age of 21 would be looked at as a horrific criminal for owning a rubber boa.
Sorry for the rant ;) Even with my relatively small BPs, I do not let people's hands, faces or other body parts sit in full striking distance of one of my snakes. Especially kids; I could just see my sister's reaction if one bit my niece.. I wuold be disowned by my entire family!

Re: Anyone have this picture?
hehe, im only 15 so techniquly i am a kid =). but its my snake and my problem if it bites me. i refuse to let me brothers/sister go near it incase it bites one of them.... and they have no idea how to handle the poor thing :P.
my mum keeps saying it will bite me one day..and she will loagh at me when it happens :O how mean.

Re: Anyone have this picture?
Look at the size of the head in comparison to the body... those two snakes were fed too much as babies. Their bellies grew before the rest of them did.
-
Re: Anyone have this picture?
Overfeeding is certainly easy with burms - they always seem hungry, hehe. My burm eats on Saturday or Sunday and is actively hunting for food usually by Wednesday and giving me "I'm-soooo-hungry!" puppy dogs eyes. =)
Lourdes has a little bit a fat (I think) down by his butt, so we're being extra careful to keep his meals small and regular so he doesn't get fat. :)

LOL...my husband is the same way. Everytime I have my BP out, he asks, "Has it bit you yet???" I don't think he'd laugh at me if she does...but he would most likely give me a great big "I told you so"....as if I were disputing the possibility or if I would care much if she did bite? He's so silly!

I'm 14 so I am technically a kid too. Lol. That's the way my dad is. He says my snakes will escape and choke me to death.

Takes a lot longer than two days for them to digest then poop it out.

Re: Anyone have this picture?
Wow, that house/room is trashed..........
-
Re: Anyone have this picture?
Is it asking too much to sweep/mop a little bit?
-
Re: Anyone have this picture?
karma in short, i think yes =) judging by the stat of the room and the look of the pythons he has NO idea about hygien. look at the bits of shed just lying around.
and it wouldent suprise my if they just put the poo in a large sac called 'python poop' and use it as fertiliser or there eggplants. :P
ok my rants over....
o btw in activity due to family visiting...

this is one big snake

Re: Anyone have this picture?
It might be just me, but I don't feel comfortable with big snakes around my neck. Call me crazy. Also the original pic in the thread, 60 lb pigs, how much do you think his kid weighs???????

True, but looking at that burm (the albino SPECIFICALLY) that snake weighs MUCH more than 200#. 2/3 of it's length might be around 2-250, most likely. The normal burm might be around the 200-mark, as it's not as long or thick as the pics of the albino look, and judging by the size of the body, you can see they've been overfed.
Not health for the snakes, at all. Who's to say they won't have heart attacks or kidney failure b/c of their weight???? Sheesh.
