Please give this girl a look...
Hey all, got a weird looking BP for you to check out. These are pictures of her beside an 07' normal. These photos are under natural light and are in *no way* altered. I haven't seen anything quite like her but I'm a boa breeder so BPs aren't my forte. Thoughts? Thanks for looking.

Very good looking animal. It has the appearance of a few ball pythons that I have seen pics of over the years. The animals that I am referring to have looked normal and then one day they shed and seem to have lost their color. I do not own, nor have I seen in person one of these animals, but that is what I see when I look at your animal. Do you have any history on that animal? Either way, it is very attractive, and I hope you can prove out that look in the future.

    Congrats on a beautiful Ball,

    Hi,

I suck at these kinds of threads.:(

I'll have a guess for entertainments sake till the clever people turn up but I vote for either Enchi pastel or Blonde pastel.

Sadly I don't have any history on her. I got her from someone who didn't want to care for her any longer after she got a slight burn from too hot of a heating pad under her tank. The burn healed fine and she's a fantastic eater. At what age did the animals you're talking about suddenly lose their color? Did they darken to a regular BP brown/gold? I think from her size I'd have to put her at about over a year, but not by much. I have seen no color change after any sheds so far. Thanks for the help!

I do know its not a pastel of any sort, I have seen yellow ghost that look a bit like your animal. If you want send it my way I will prove it out for you (jk). But I like it, and its a good looker.

I see most pastel with faded black markings instead of the pitch black she has so I wasn't thinking pastel either. She is a good looker and I'm sure I'll breed her but I'm just thinking about the best type of male. She's got two years before I'd do it anyway, so, there's time. Thanks for your input.

I'd ruled out ghost because I thought it looked too shiny.:sabduel:

I'm not the best at it either, I've bred boas for miles and kept quite a few pythons but never bred them. Eggs make me nervous. Do ghosts usually have a dull appearance? She sort of does.

    Hi,

Well I always though ghosts had a sort of muted stonewashed look to them. Here's a few links with pictures (none of which are mine and belong to the hosting website).

Yeah she is not washed out like that, though the colors are close otherwise.

I can't put my finger on it! It definately does not look Pastel.. there is not that honkin' yellow on the bottom parts of the pattern that even the most browned-out pastels seem to retain. Fire Ball? The more times I look at the snake, the less close I am to IDing it if it is a morph..!

Exactly my problem. I keep looking and I keep seeing what she ISN'T. She has that mixing of slate gray and yellow on her sides and bright yellow on the top and bottom. I've seen fire balls but none that look enough like her to say that's it. Stumped. Thank you for the opinion!

    Alex,
If I recall correctly, it has happened at differnet ages, but I most remeber it happening in the first 1 to 2 years. I think that they have colored back up to near original color after some time. However, after the initial posting of those animals, the usually fade away, and the owners never followed up on what happened to them. I wish I could have been more help. If I can locate on of the posts that I am reffering to tomorrow, I'll link in this post.

Great, thank you. I'll keep you up to date on her color changes for sure so we know if she's one of these age faders or not.

It could be a Ghost, it could be a Fire but it can also be a normal. Only time will tell. Till that time it's just a beautifull looking ball ;)

Very beautiful girl... if she gains black pigment with time, she would look somewhat like the Sulfur IMG. At any rate, an awesome animal.

She looks like a sulphur. A ghost would shed clear like an albino. The first sulphur was thought to be a cool normal but seems to clean / lighten pastels and mojaves when combined. I don't have a link but i know some here does. There was a thread on them not too long ago.

I didn't specifically look but I don't remember any color on her shed but it was very recent so I'll take pics after the next one. Thanks for the info do you have any good links to sulfur pics?

I'm still learning morphs, but when I first saw this thread, I too thought she looked very similar to the Dessert Ghost at Prehistoric Pets.

Very pretty girl! I hope you discover her 'true identity' soon!
