    freaked OUT!
Argh! I hate being home alone at night. I wish that Mark would get his butt home from tattooing.
There are creepy thumping sounds coming from upstairs in my landlord's apartment.. NO one is there. I am not imagining it; my cat is staring up at the *** ceiling too.
Got my gun within reach.. but still ready to piddle myself.

I wish that it wasn't too late to call my friends or something. I tried calling my one night-owl friend and even she is not up! Argh.. maybe he left his dog up there? I know that there are mice but can they be this loud?!

Awww....I hate that!! When I moved into my apartment, it was the first time I had completely alone (I lived in the dorms before that, and a single room in the dorms just isn't the same thing). I always had to turn my music up pretty loud and read a book, or watch a movie that I really liked. Something to keep my from thinking about all the weird noises I was hearing. So turn up your music and dance like a crazy woman till he gets back ^_^ It always worked for me :P

Might be a good excuse to buy a gaurd animal if you were looking for one.

I understand big dogs are traditional but , personally, I've had worse experiences with tokay gecko's and geese.

Maybe the cat is playing with something? Mine have gotten a cardboard box and managed to tump it over and over playing. Remarkably loud noises can come from any number of things, so hopefully it's nothing. Fondle your gun and think good thoughts about python eggs hatching out.

People with guns should not be afraid. :P They might get spooked and shoot the landlord or hubby, or worse yet theirselves!

lol; luckily he is on his way home. It can't be a cat, because the LL only brings out his dog when he comes out, and he isn't here this week! But it is probably mice; he is notorious for leaving food out.. and as for my cat, he has been right behind me chewing on a paper bag for some reason (little psycho, lol)
I am having thoughts of geting a dog. Usually, Mark is not this late and they are closed by 8-9pm.. but ah well.
Oh FF; it is an ancient farmhouse; pre-1800!

it's OK :) I really would never even load it unless, say, a strange car came down th driveway or some weirdo was actually walking in and I had a one-up seeing them before they saw me.
It is the creepy unidentifiable sounds upstairs that frighten me! Not so much the fear of a live attacker.. but I am NOT going up to invesigate..
So I talked to Mark on the phone about it and he goes :oh yeah, I hear that all the time.." lol

Oh.. ok.. that makes me feel SO much safer! ;)
See, I was a firm believer in the supernatural (ghosts and whatnot) but had been waning in my belief in the past years because I never feel or see anything. See, I could be on a walk through a cemetery with 5-6 people, and everyone's going nuts because they see/feel presences; I will just be there as unphased as if Iw ere walking down the soup aisle at the store (maybe even less so, since there are always little old ladies blocking this aisle..)
    Fun yay, sleep-deprivation rocks!

Are there any big tree's next to the house? It could be a branch that's hitting the side of your house of the ceiling. That can get pretty dang loud if the wind blows good.

Actually there are a few of those cheap plastic resin chairs up on his porch up there.. it is kinda breezy and I guess they could be shifting around
YAY though; my honey is home and just pulled in the driveway..
That is.. I "think" it is him.. hope it is..

That noise you heard upstairs was me, I was trying to "borrow some of your snakes for a while" lol jk ;) . In a old house like that it could be ANYTHING, house settling, the pipes for the water etc. maybe even mice. Good idea to have the gun by your side though, just incase :D

Its probably just rats. We had rats in our attic and they were living on snails. There was a mound of snails shells 6 inches deep, good thing my room mate cleaned it up.

I use to rent a house that was haunted. Nothing big, cabinets would slam at night, foot steps in the hall, things would fall at all hours of the night. The worst thing to happen to me was seeing someone in the kitchen window when I drove up one morning. My family refused to stay with me :D. Nothing super scary ever happened just stuff that would startle you. :D

    Re: freaked OUT!
Well, this topic has turned into a haunted-house thread.. and that is awesome :)
I didn not think the house was haunted itself. we moved in, in 2002 and I really have never found or felt anything strange in the house itself.. it seems like a very "clean" house in that regard.. (I wish it were clean in other regards! lol..) But there is a decrepit barn that is falling down.. a farmer died in there years ago from succombing to methane fumes. Had to be a horrible way to go; gasping for air and all. Mark even knows that the barn is haunted (he is a big skeptic on hauntings..) He was out in the still-standing part awhile ago, spray-painting his truck; he made me come in until he was done because he was "freaked out!"
I think that in the house, it is hard to say what the sounds were. But come to find out, my LLord left one of the upsatairs windows open; it was windy, and I bet that something just blew over.
