How does your BP shed?

I have noted that my BP sheds in a rolled up piece (like a condom) while my corn snake sheds in one long inside out piece (like taking off a sock), all stretched out. On another thread I asked this question and someone thought it was a neat question so I am starting a poll.

How does your snake shed?

The worst bit is when they leave something inside that shed....poop filled shed donut...yewwwww!

Well, I have two BP's and one of them has the 'sock' shed, while the other's shed is all balled up.

Mine somehow pulled the thing off, and without leaving his shed, left it right outside the door, and it was all compacted, but not in a ball, more like 1/2 of a football with the inside taken out, was weird lol

Mine was pretty rolled up, at first I thought it was poop but I figured it was too long.

When my boys have a "good" shed, it comes out all rolled up, and yes, usually with poo. :P


other times, it's flakey, and comes off in patches. But I blame me for those, and
thankfully, there hasn't been a "bad" shed in a while. :)

lol @ Condom sheds.

but mine vary.

Some are long and some are rolled up.

The corns always shed in one long piece inside out.

Prince...my RTB...is just nasty!

He makes the biggest mess and will poo in his water EVERYTIME!

definitely doughnut shaped... of course not a perfect dough nut shape

mine do both but usually in one long piece. i woke up the other morning to floyd's skin wrapped around his vine! lol

i get a half and half. the front half is balled up from her rubbing and the last half looks like she just slid out. never any poo in it though. she breaks through the dead skin when she poos.

Alice's first few sheds were in a messy wad with poo inside. The last one was stretched across the tank and I found the poo inside his cool hide. He hadn't pooped in about three feeds, so imagine my surprise when I discovered a poo a bit larger than what my 4-lb pomeranian leaves behind! Alice only weighs 437 grams. As odd as it sounds, I found that fascinating :rolleye2:

When my ball pythons go into shed like the rest of my snakes I mist them daily. And their sheds come off very nice in a donut roll. Even my retic's come off nicely with the daily misting but theirs are like an inside out stretched sock.
