Tragic loss of a pro wrestler
I haven't watched wrestling much in the last few years but it's still sad to see another one of the older wrestlers of the early days pass off.

I really don't have any thoughts about the situation, but it's pretty sad none the less.:(

Arghh, it makes me mad. Why would someone kill their own family like that?? It is sad that he died, but it is even more sad that he went through killing his wife and son. :(

I don't think the loss of Chris Benoit by his own hands is tragic. I do think that the loss of his wife and son by his hands are, however. I find it hard to muster up much sympathy for him. I don't see much difference between what he did to his family and what the Cutts fellow in OH did to his girlfriend and unborn daughter, one was famous, one wasn't.

Since I'm in Georgia, it's been a top story here.

I agree. Benoit was a loser. If you want to off yourself, fine. Don't smother your 7 year old boy and strangle your wife. I made my son throw away all of the Chris Benoit wrestling figures that he has.

I agree i would have made my son throw all of them away too, if he was old enough to have them he is only 2 yrs old but if he had some i would have made him get rid of them too!

    My :2cent:

For another note: Adults beat the heck out of each other all the time, and i no way am i say it is ok, but your SON!!! YOUR SON!!! WTF was this guy thinking, my wife said that when people do things like that it is a basis of pride for them thinking well if i can't go on neither can you! what the heck kind of mentality is that! I think it was just wrong about what happened to his wife and son! i could care less about him!

I don't understand why everyone (here in the south anyway) is making this out to be a tragic loss to the wrestling world, and making all these excuses and saying that nothing has been proven yet. You don't have to be a genius to put two and two together and realize what happened. The guy was a scum bag.

Personally I hope there is a Hell and Bobby Cutts, Jr. and Chris Benoit each have a very special seat there, right beside Scott Peterson, Gilberta Estrada, Andrea Yates and the rest. Any parent that willingly takes away their child's right to continue to live deserves nothing more.

I just read in the paper that he injected his kid with HGH to accelerate his growth. Apparently Benoit was not too pleased with his own 5'10 stature and did not want his son to be small also.

This guy was a real classy guy.

ok, i can KIND OF understand killing yourself but why would you feel the need to kill other people first? seriously, do they think it's gonna make a difference in the afterlife? either way, they're swimmin in a lake of fire. why not just leave everyone out of your suicide??? it seems to be happening more and more! so sad!

Him taking his innocent wife and kid's life was horrible, I lost all respect for him once I heard that. But if the HGH thing is true that what have been a very uncomfortable and painfull childhood for his kid, seems like this guy was really sick in the head

I heard on monday night when i was flipping through the channels and came across raw. i havent watched wrestleing in forever, but when i saw he died and his family too i was like oh my gosh...how sad.. then i couldnt help but watch it, they sent everyone home and cancelled the show and honored him, all the people that work with him were talking about how good of a person he was. then the next day this all comes out...if i was one of his friends/ co-workers talking about him on tv that night i'd feel like an ass for say nice things about him. what a jerk to kill for wife and kid....he does belong in hell like jo said..

I don't buy steroid rage. You don't go into a rage and then go to thet rouble to tie up someone, then strangle them, then wait a day to smother your son, then wait a day to hang yourself.
It's aweful. No one should ever murder a child. His poor wife and son. Not to mention all of the family that are affected.

I would not ever be trying to excuse him for what he has done by mentioning the steroids. They are not at fault; he was at fault. I guess it is like using cocaine or any other substance that can cause someone to become out-of-control.. the user was not tied down and made to use it, therefore any consequences its use has is the user's fault.
I know that steroids can contribute to rage. my friend saw someone at her gym go into a fit of rage and throw a garbage can at someone! But again.. the imbecile who abuses/takes the drug is again at fault; I would never defend a person like that.
It is also my belief, that there is No crime out there that is worse than the abuse of a child. Not stealing; not conspiracy. not even certain types of murder.. they do not hold a candle to senseless, needless child harming in my book.

Good God, this occurred over DAYS???? I haven't had the heart to read much on this, it's so upsetting to me when kids die at their parent's hands but how in hell does anything but pure evil explain this sort of action? I hadn't realized that it wasn't fairly "instant" for the wife and child *sigh*. I wonder if there's an even deeper level of hell for this kind of thing.

Now they're thinking his son was given Human Growth Hormones because his parents might have thought he was "Small for his age". What kind of parents are they? And they beleive that Chris and his son might have suffered from "Fragile X Syndrome". Not sure what that means but if I find out, I'll share it...

Heres a fact, All wwe wrestlers are juiced up maniacs, and the biggest loser for allowing this all is Vince mchman. I believe the idiot chris beniot went nutts from being on that juice. Poor wife, and son on what they had to go through with an idiot like that.

I feel for this guy and his familiy, only ecasue something had to be going on in his mind to do that, noone just goes off and kills there familiy, then themselves. And he probably did go to hell. I HATE wresling, the stuff at HS is ok, but that fake TV crap is...well.....crap, IMO. Booker T lives a few miles away from me, and people just love that guy...for what, putting on tights and perform fake punches and moves? Sorry for my miny rant.

growth hormone is sometimes prescribed to children with growth issues, such could have been the case.

Roid rage is an over exagerated myth. Saying steroids caused this is ridiculous. The man was obviously psychotic. Injecting testosterone doesn't make you wake up in the morning a murderer.
