Great weekend... Eggs laid and 1st BP clutch hatching

WOW, What a great weekend for me. I hatched out my first BP eggs and my het albino laid a nice clutch of eggs that are all fertile with zero slugs. :carrot:

I am still blown away that I hatched out some eggs. This is my first clutch that I have ever hatched and what an incredible feeling. When I open my incubator and saw a little head peaking out I went nuts. I was totally shocked... I still cant believe they hatched. I think I have 3 ruppel pastels and 3 normals. I hope they are all female.

It has been a long process but well worth the work and time involved. I could not be happier.

Congrats Chris. That Pastel looks pretty smokin from the little bit of skin that it is showing.

Correct me if I am wrong, but was your male a Albino het pied, or was your female DBL Het Albino Pied. You said mom was a Het, and the eggs are 100% Het Albino and Poss het Pied. Just curious.

thanks so much.. I thought the same about the colors. I cant wait until it comes out and see what they look like.

About the eggs. The females is 100% het albino black back and the male is 100% het albino 50% het pied.. So the poss pied is really gonna be a long shot in the dark.. but it sure you be great if the gene passes on

Sweeet!! Yes, waiting for them to actually emerge from the eggs is TORTURE!!! Congrats totally on both the new eggs and the hatching!

what would you call her, Normal? She has some pinks and light bands or will those darken up?

I would say normal. I know the pink on mine surprised me but I think when that fades you will be left with a lovely pattered normal - how many stripes does she have?

Just a quick note in case you didn't catch it. That would make the offspring 66% Poss. Het Albino and Poss. Poss. Het (if you will) Pied, or Albino and Poss. Poss. Het Pied, not 100% Het. Albino. I hope I didn't confuse you.

That girl is hot. I love her banding.

She looks like a nifty normal to me, pre-first shed....remember that, really, most (from what I've seen) neonate snakes are extra pink before their first shed.

I guess I shouldnt have labled it that way. I was refering to the parents when I said 100% het. Thanks for helping me out with that.

Here is a picture of the first pastel that made it out. But, its a male :mad:.. oh well, he is healthy and looks better than expected. 2 other normals made it out both female but one has a birth defect. I will make another thread for her as I would like to know what to do with it.
