Guess what I found?

But didn't get at my pet store?

A pastel male! I went in to see if any adult females had been surrendered, and they took me to an enclosure where they had four juvie snakes that had been traded for a turtle. One was a pastel male. They were all about 300 grams, I'd guess.

I said "this is a pastel!" He's like, "it's just a ball python to me". I'm like "but it's a pastel!!!!" He's like, I don't care, I just want to sell it. $50 for a pastel male. Since I have Winston, I didn't need him, but I called mxrider here on the forum and told him about it, so I think he's going to run up there and get him.

Had it been a female, I would have purchased her on the spot! LOL

Haha, me too! Nice find!!! There's a shop near me that has a hatchling female pastel, but she's low quality and they definitely know what she is--$599 last I saw. ^-^ I hope somebody who knows what he is gets him!

Here he is! They charged me $75 instead of $50. He weighs 276 grams and is a little thin. He looks a lot better in person. Thanks goes out to Robin.

Well, that stinks, Trey! I should have just bought him when he quoted me $50 and then called you and met up with you afterwards.

I'm glad you got him, I really don't like seeing the balls stay there for any period of time, as they are really stressed there and don't usually feed for them (despite that they'll tell you otherwise).

Wow, great find... looks like an adult pastel already. Green eyes?

wow, it still just blows my mind when people get there hands on morphs and dont even know what they have... Why cant I accidentally get a motley boa? lol

The guy at the pet store said someone walked in with 4 ball pythons, 2 adult bearded dragons, a dumerils boa, and a king snake. He said the guy was having twins and had to get rid of them. The guy at the pet store said one male was a pied and one male was a pastel. He said someone had already picked up the pied for $75.:D They are not the smartest. I doubt it was a pied probably just a het pied.

Oh man, don't cha love when that happens.

At petco they had one that was mustard colored for only $80!!! If he had been healtiher I would have snatched him up.

It kills me to see people not know what they have.

hmmmmm, my local petsore has one that looks like a normal but has mustard coloring. What could it be?
