Argggg!!

OMG im kicking my self in the teeth right now! i just got off the phone with a local guy that is selling his entire collection for $900! 16 females (100% hets, 1 pied het and one het albino pother w/ papers) and 2 males, (one pastel and one 100% het pied w/ papers) racks and all.

I wish I was ritch.

The guy is moving and cant take them and has a new wife who hates the snakes so it was her or the snakes.

Im so bummed!!

oh god I wish I could it is the greatest deal I have ever seen . all females are 1500 gr and feeding great. the males are both 04s and the pastel is a lemon!!! I'm almost in tears.

also comes with a huge incubater.

all of that for only $900? dang, I'd be bustin' out my credit card (or the loan idea would work too! haha)

I credit is so bad (collage loans) that I cant get a loan. my husband said to get the money my self lol..... I could make about 100 of the eggs and sell them... yeah.... no, that wouldnt work.... poop!

Call the guy up and see if he will make you some kind of deal. Like pay as you go with a small down payment.


Wow. I have to wonder about their relationship. Even if she really doesn't like snakes, one would think she could accept her partner's passion if she really loved him. With that collection, it must be his passion. Oh well. Who am I to judge?

Ummmm....while I can certainly understand the desire to take advantage of that kind of deal....aren't you in a position yourself of having to get rid of your snakes? Or sneak them into your apt? How would you go about adding THAT many more snakes to your collection all at once? (Not to mention the HUGE jump in feeding bills....or breeder rodents needed to keep up with all of them.)

already asked about payments. it's a no go. moving way to soon to make payments. I already got him to drop the price down from 1500 to 900 bucks so... i'm just waiting for an idea to hit me.

I'm confused as well - you were just getting rid of all your snakes a month ago - what's changed?

Getting a 4 bedroom place. all that is left is the closeing on the place. I cant aford this any way $900 is alot to spend in one lump sum. the whole *work brain for ideas" thing was more of a joke.

I just couldnt believe the deal. This stuff never works out the way I want it. and I have never had 900 to blow on anything lol. I wish apon wish I could get them and yeah that is ALOT of snakes to take on at once. I tryed to get him to let me take the hets and the pastel but he is firm in selling the whole group so that leaves me out of this deal.

ok We thought we were going to have to move in to a slum but by the graces of some god we got the V.A. loan and we are trying to close on a 4 bdr house right now. I'm able to keep my snakes. I have build a full rack, and I have bulk frozen mice and rats.

I answered there question, just in a shorter way. Things have been moving really fast around here.

The guy lied to me when it came to not wanting to break up the group. I just wanted to know how much the pastel was alone and he said there was no way he was going to break up the group. When holberid asked I made a call to see if the guy still had them and if it was ok for me to give his # to some one who was intrested. that is when he paused and then stated that he had sold a few snakes after I called this morning.

is there anything else you want to know? did I miss something else?

yeah in some wild dream I would love to be a breeder and this is the perfect step at a great price. but with all the room in the world, I wouldnt have enough money to cover this.

seriously tho...snakes are a passion and a hobby for me. If i get with a chick that says "it's either me or the snakes", i'd choose the snakes in a heart beat and show her the door and make damn sure it hit her on the ass on the way out.

My husband really dosent like the fact that i have snakes and i really dont like the fact that he had over 40 subwoofers just lieing around the house collecting dust. he says that I should be making money from my hobby like he dose. I love my snakes and yes I would love to breed but It wouldnt be for the money.

he has gotten over the whole snake thing like I have gotten over his bass fetish. he keeps his subs while i keep my snakes.

making money in any business or investment takes time.
usually the more you invest, the more you make.

just like an investment fund, the more you put in and the longer it sits there the more you end up with.

with snakes you have to feed,care and establish them. the more breeders you have the more babies you can sell.

did I just get Pownd?... Im confused... I would love to make some money off of my BPs and some day I will. Right now I want to get up a nice collection of hets, females and a few nice morphs. I'm willing to clean snake poo for a while in order to make my money back.

I'd totally drive UP to GA to grab that... lol. If it's a real offer... if the hets are really hets...

as far as I know this deal is for real. but I would like to state something that has really been bugging me.

I feel like I'm on trial here. this thread was for the sole purpose of venting my frustration on not being able to take this deal. I can want in one hand and **** in the other and what do I have? This was the deal that I have been waiting for but it came at the wrong time.

Now I'm getting asked questions about my personal life? This I sadly don't understand. Then when I state that I am wanting to breed snakes and that I don't want to be in it for the money, I get harassed again. I'm not yelling, I'm not mad, I am how ever confused on where you all think you have the right to dig in to my personal affairs? When I was ready to tell you about my new home I would have.

you're not on trial...just looking for some clarity to what some saw as an issue. Previous threads stated that you had to move and were having to give up your collection, and then the next thread states that you're trying to come up with 900 bucks to buy a huge collection some dude is selling.

But hey, you answered the question and made it clear that things had turned around for you, and kudos to you for buying a house. more space means more snakes :D :gj:

As Nate said, you're not on trial. But if you share details about your personal life in a public forum, then details about your personal life are bound to be asked. If you share tragic news about being forced to move into a bad situation and having to give up all your animals...then never share the GOOD news that you found (or are able to look for) a much better house where you can keep your animals....well, how will anyone know?

So, it looked like you were fired up to buy animals that you would have no where to keep and no means of keeping. It seemed like a logical question to ask and I was truly concerned. I'm very glad you are able to move into a big house and have room for all your critters. And I wish you all the best in your breeding endeavors. I'm with you....it's not about making money. But it's an undeniable fact that there is tons of money involved in breeding ball python morphs, and I think some folks just felt like that point was being missed.

I apologize if I came across as critical. I was concerned and confused, is all. I truly wish you the best and much success wtih your animals!

I wouldn't use as strong a term as "lied" to you. These are this guys snakes, his personal collection, he can decide to sell them together, seperately, give them away, whatever, basically do as he sees fit with his snakes and that's not dependent on any information he gave you previously. There was no firm deal struck, no promises made, no exchange of funds so personally I don't see it's something that was "lied" about or that this seller needs to be "watched out" for by any else interested in what he's offering.

You know what they say; if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't. Could be false hets that you'd raise up and get all normals out of. Not that normals aren't great; but with hets, you expect morphs eventually.. I mean, the het pieds alone are worth that asking price!
