Viper Boa's

I have a friend who is looking to get one or a pair of these little guys. All of the ones he has found so far are WC imports who don't look to healthy as he told me. Does anyone know of anyone who is breeding & selling them by chance?

good luck finding breeders, they're very few and far between if around at all. I love all my candoia, but it seems not many share the sentiment. I have seen cb's but not recently. Find a trustworthy importer is your friends best bet, and hope that they'll start eating well. May take some frogs and lizards though to get them in shape.

I think CB Viper Boas are very scarce right now. I can try looking for you. If I find one, I'll send you a PM.

From what I know (and I am open to being wrong) no one has yet to successfully breed Viper Boas. The CB viper boas are more accurately captive hatched from females caught that are gravid.

I just read about this and from what I remember there is one guy doing a lot of work convinced it is a tempetature issue. He gets lock ups but no eggs, can't remember what site I was reading about them on though,

You know one thing that really bothers me about that site is the classification of boas into

Intermediate
and
Advanced

That is kind of crapshoot to say the least but the real issue is they list rainbows as a "beginner" boa. Sorry but WTF, :taz: this is the kind of crap that ends up with some new herper comming here with a rainbow boa on deaths door because it has been kept at 40% humidity! I am going to drop them a note about this, they may not care but who knows.

This is what I sent to the president of that company,

"Ken, I notice your site lists rainbow’s as beginner boas. I find this to be a mistake to say the least. The care requirements of rainbows are quite advanced with humidity requirements, temps, etc. It is your business and you can do what you like but I just think you are setting yourself up for problems down the road. While they do not get as big as red tails etc. they actually require a lot more attention and care then some of their bigger brothers.

Who knows may be it will save a rainbow boa from death from misguided kindness, :tombstone

Good luck, you may have to resort to lizard scenting for good feeding.

He's also got the Macklott's listed as a beginner python species....... :(

all i know is i have wanted a fly river turt for years now and they have them. i have have to pick 1.1 up

I notice they have "Cooks Tree Boas" too. LOL.
