Jungle Madness
So I was being naughty and looking for jungle Ball Pythons... (No Giggling and No "I told you so's" ;) )
I found Don Kaye's website and low and behold... There is a male 100% Het Pied Jungle.. So I email him thinking he was already sold and Don just hadn't updated his site, but nope! Needless to say... He's coming home with Becky(the snake, not Don!).
Here he is, and I am just completely in love...

Re: Jungle Madness
Thanks everyone! :) I still can't believe I found this snake, he's just gorgeous.
I'm gonna need to start charging admission.. I have 21 Ball Pythons, that are mine(three adult girls going to their new homes), not to mention 18 eggs... This is going to be a FUN season(getting the crazy giggles now that I am officially nuts).
Now ask me how many mice I use per week... ;)
-
Re: Jungle Madness
How many mice do you use per week?
Congrats Becky, that is a stunning looking Het Pied male. I ran across that same picture last week somewhere, and thought that if I didn't already have a Het Pied male, I would have loved to look at him everyday. Hopefully you will take plenty of pics of him over the years to come.

Re: Jungle Madness
Nice catch, Becky! Congrats!

Re: Jungle Madness
LoL, I was kidding about the mice :) but the last time I fed everyone I had 60 mice in the tub and there were 15 left when I got done. At least it only takes me about an hour to feed everyone! :-D

Re: Jungle Madness
The picture isnt coming up for me for some reason. But we are talking about a classic jungle right?
-
Re: Jungle Madness
If could jump and here and ask a question please that would be great. What makes a jungle a jungle?
-
Re: Jungle Madness
The lovely wonkiness of the pattern :) It's not genetic, or supposedly not, but who cares, I will just enjoy having him in my collection. He has alot of potential, to me anyway.
And I've been struck with Jungle Fever even before I got my first Ball Python, but have not been able to find any that 1) I liked(I'm a picky little snit), and 2) were in my price range. I've seen ALOT that were labeled as jungles or labyrinths, but they looked like normals I already had in my group. I love this boy because of his dark contrast and the wild patterning.

Re: Jungle Madness
Becky, in a phrase, "I hate you".
you and your gorgeous wittle snakey poo! lol.
Ok fine, I don't hate you, but am rather jealous!
-
Re: Jungle Madness
Hehe! I'm jealous of ALOT of other people who are able to have the snakes that I can only dream of(no amount of saving will help, LOL). It takes me awhile to locate a snake I actually want.
Good example: I went to Petco a few months ago and they had this PERFECT male granite. He was a good feeder and had an attitude :) A few months down the line, I went back to Petco to get some mealworms, and he was STILL there... I told myself that if he was still there a month later, I would get him. So, this weekend I met a friend up there, because their Balls were on sale, and low and behold.. He was STILL there! LOL! He's a huge fat thing(ok.. 350g or so). It takes me awhile to decide if I really need that snake or not, and him being there for that long, was obviously a sign that he needed to come home with me(and for $40, it wasn't a bad deal) :)
-
Re: Jungle Madness
I was actually meaning to ask if that granite has shed yet? you know you could always post a pic on here... :D thanks...
-
Re: Jungle Madness
Nope, he hasn't shed yet. Still a pissy little thing... Oh wait! He's that way all the time! LMAO! :)
I did get some pictures though and will get a few more after he sheds. He's already cleared up, so hopefully the shedding will commence soon. He seems very comfy in his new tub, lounging all over his hide and inside(as I threaten and grumble under my breath "do not tip your bowl, do not tip your bowl"). He'll get some good eats when he is shiny again.

Re: Jungle Madness
I also have seen those so-called "jungles" and "labyrinths..." it can take a while of good searching to find one whose looks are actually true to he term given to it. I've been lucky enough to find a couple that are now in my collection. Great job on this one, I think he's awesome!
