    Surprise!!! (major omgomgomg moment here)
So.. a few months ago, Sarah, her husband Jeff and I went to this woman's house in Dallas. I had found her on Craigslist and she had two snakes for adoption. One was an adult female Granite and she was being kept with a similarly aged nice-looking male(black-backish).

Now... She hadn't been eating and I kept wondering if she was just not interested in the mice or what. I had palpated her when I got her and didn't feel anything whatsoever at the time(she was probably just past the stage of ovulation). She shed about 2-3 weeks after I had obtained her.

Low and behold.. I go to change her water tonight, because I go around and give everyone fresh water before I feed, and there she's sitting, in the back of the tub... On 5 eggs...

Needless to say... Becky about died. I rigged up an egg box in about 5 minutes flat, egg crate and everything. I got her washed up, tub cleaned, and fresh water like originally planned ;)

So, these 5 eggs are just slightly dehydrated but nicely firm to the touch. All are white/not discolored, and I will attempt to candle them later on. They are in a 6qt sterilite shoebox, perlite and 2 sets of egg crates(just in case). I have press N seal between the tub and lid so it's airtight.

    Thank you for any help!

    Haha, thanks everyone :)

Here's a pic of mum, if anyone has forgotten her pretty face. She was about 1800g before laying and was 1300g or so tonight. So I guess the eggs are fairly good sized.

So, if there are granites in the clutch, does that mean she's genetic, or do I need to do some more dinking(not that that wouldn't happen anyway, hehe)?

I love this girl, she's so calm about everything and didn't even give me grief about taking her away from her eggs. Such a good mom. Now, hopefully she'll start eating so she can be put with my YB boy this coming season(if she's up to size, that is) :-D

That is AWEsome, Becky!! What an exciting surprise!

I don't know the answer to the granite question, but if I had her and had a YB ready to go next year, I'd probably pair 'em up and see what pipped out! :D

Are you sure that the woman you got them from wasn't trying to hide her baby's pregnancy from her neighbors by sending her and her boyfriend to live with someone else, while she told everyone that they were at an extended summer camp? :D :P Either way, you win!! Congrats Becky! :carrot:

Quick question and sorry for the hijack! lol. What would a granite x YB produce? I saw the answer somewhere, but I can't remember for the life of me where, or what it is >.<

Re: Surprise!!! (major omgomgomg moment here)
I believe true granites x YB = Ebony

And I think she may have travelled to a day spa *coughEHEM* with her pool boy.. Yay for illegitimate children! ;)

Anyway! The male she had been kept with(for her whole life..) was a gorgeous black back, so who knows what the babies will look like.

The eggs are slowly filling back in, not as many creases/dents. I figure they are about 4-6 days old, maybe a week, as I normally clean only when they need cleaned(not on one set day) and I change their water every other day. Since she hadn't been eating, her tub obviously wasn't getting dirtied :) so she just gets her water changed and the whole tub doesn't get pulled out.

*goes to tell the snakes NO MORE SURPRISES!* The Inn is full!
